Brevin has never played a full season at UM. I’d be concerned as a NFL GM that this guy’s gonna spend most of his time on IR. I mean the talent is there, but he’s got to find a way to become more durable.
Lashlee owned the poor performance last week. That’s a good sign. Hopefully it helps him grow as a coach.
He has to get rid of the mentality to force feed the run and be patient to allow it to open up with varied, unpredictable play calling. All he has to do is look at how the Championship pedigreed team that whipped them established their running game.
The core of the Clemson offense was a short passing game that confused and exposed the linebackers and neutralized the defensive line. They were unpredictable on 1st down and attacked the weakness of our defense on the edge.
Even with their pedigree and the bad weather, they didn’t try to bully or outathlete us with predictable plays. They were patient, put us on skates, and capitalized on our miscues.
This is what will take Lashlee to the next level. He did it to Florida State and destroyed them. For some reason, he reverted to the Auburn offense last Saturday.
I think he will get back on track against Pitt and finish the season strong.
