The Dolphins game today affirmed the need for change at UM

Good grief did that look like a different team with Campbell at the reigns. Coach Campbell has those guys playing HARD. Complete 180 in both offensive and defensive philosophy - defense line was aggressive and allowed to "make plays" on their own and the offense heavily relied on the run game and used that to balance out the passing game and mid-level threats. They put L. Miller in a position to run downhill and hit the lane at full speed (unlike Yearby).

You can tell he had an idea of "what would work if he were in charge" and immediately removed everything that Philbin had put in place.

My brain kept thinking about what that would feel/look like at UM...

i thought more about the U than the fins watching that game.. It was refreshing to see a great brand and style of football they dominated all 3 phases of the game

the players begged the staff to drop the 2 gap read and react and wa la!!

Well they didn't the advantage of Al and Mark coaching them on the benefits of not crossing over the LOS and dancing with the oline. Clearly the Fins need Al.

Golden sucks and needs to go ....but Dolphins beat a team with 1 win. Lamar will go back to average 40 yards a game/3.3 per carry soon as they play a decent team.

When Philbin went all PC in the Jonathan Martin Debacle, he lost the locker room. Now the team can play like one, not guys looking over their shoulder all the time.

Hmm, wonder if another team could use that kind of change...

Did you not watch the game? The entire gameplay was completely counter to what Philbin had them doing. They were a 75%+ passing team before (less than 50% today). 2 gap defense before with no push at the line (reactive not proactive) - today the DEs were allowed to bull rush at will and front 7 went after it without a request to "read" the backfield.

Not a Dolphins fan so no I didnt watch the game(hard enough having to watch Canes play the way they do). My point is....if someone came in and took over and Canes beat FAU, FIU or some other team I wouldnt get giddy until I see it produce against a team that wins games not some 1-4 team starting a rookie QB with no playmakers to even throw to.

They're excited about the change in philosophy, that's the point.

I'm not a Dolphins fan either. I've always seen them as a goofy organization who's leaders were/are clowns. Having said that, I agree with the OP. That was a different squad out there today. They played with passion and enthusiasm and Campbell has them playing to their strengths. Also I don't buy the comparison between a new coach at UM beating FIU and the Dolphins win at Tennessee. I don't care what the Titans record is or if their QB is a rookie. Anytime that a team goes out on the road and wins by 4 touchdowns in the NFL, that is significant.

I don't think anyone is expecting this Dolphins team to dominate the rest of their games and win the Super Bowl but the OP's point is certainly valid. I am also of the opinion that a new staff(assuming we hire a qualified and competent coach) could have the same type of effect on this UM team. There is a lot of talent here just screaming to be let out of Bozo the Folden's dungeon of incompetence.

Lmao at anyone buying into generic coach talk.

The Dolphins suck, 6-10 at best, with Campbell or philbin or whatever shleb is running this farce.

So you didn't watch the game? Yet you where pretty quick to pass judgement without having any information. Tannehill himself said that the team takes on the personality of the head coach and that he could sense the team had more energy. And remember this is the NFL not college, there isn't that much of a talent gap between the teams.

yes miami needs a new coach but lord don't use yesterday as an example. it was freak'n Tennessee

Made me think how terrible Tennessee must be and how much they need to fire that idiot HC of theirs. Whisenhunt is a joke.

You faqqots criticizing the Fins for blowing out the Titans without even watching the game are a bunch of haters.

The Titans have been in every game they've played this season, loosing several times in heartbreaking fashion.

Mariotta has been very good as a rookie. Their defense has played very well.

Give credit where it's due. The 'Fins looked like a totally different team yesterday. Talk all the **** you want, the proof is in the pudding.

They were finally allowed to play loose, free, instinctive ball and it showed on the field.

When the Canes get a real coach (Butch Davis) you will then finally see how talented a squad we have.

Yea Tenn with a rookie QB was a challenge

but I get your point just dont use the sorry as fins as an example

Philbin was like a cadaver. I'll never understand why they hired him in the first place. The players LIKE & RESPECT Campbell & he's tough AND IN TOUCH WITH THE LOCKERROOM. I think he has the ability to get the best out of the players. Should be interesting.
