Plus, if we went with Under Armour to begin with, our basketball program wouldn't be in shambles.I actually prefer Under Armour if I am allowed to be completely honest.
Sad but true, trusting the Euro shoes, no bueno.Plus, if we went with Under Armour to begin with, our basketball program wouldn't be in shambles.
I believe that our football program is becoming more modern, and so should our uniforms. Miami is a flashy city and our unis should reflect our city.
I realize the old-heads on this board love the throwback unis we wear now but majority of recruits do not, and believe it or not, Uniforms matter to recruits, period. "but Bama doesn't..." Well, yeah, but Bama also hands out major![]()
. We need any recruiting advantage we can get.
Under Nike we were innovators of uniform combinations. I believe we should go in the direction that Adidas has taken Louisville with their uniforms.
What are your opinions if the football program adopted the Miami Vice jerseys that the Heat wear?
EDIT: There is a reason why when we played on national televised games against VT and Notre Dame we wore our "Miami Nights" alternates. IT APPEALS TO RECRUITS. Manny said we are The New Miami, I guarantee we modernize our uniforms.

We didn't wear black against Notre Dame my dude. And our uniforms are modern, they're the best product adidas already puts out, the Louisville ones are the same bullbleep we all hated in 2015.
The aesthetic is throwback, but the primeknit material is modern. Manny keeps talking about "TNM" I guarantee he changes our 80s style uniforms that Richt chose. He's doing everything to separate from the previous staff.
Please give me an example (outside of Oregon) that resides in the upper echelon (as a brand) of college football with the modern uniforms you speak of. Our uniforms are great I really don't understand what you mean. The new-age Nike ones we had in 2014 were so terrible.
The uniforms we wear now are our 80s throwbacks remade by Adidas. Ohio State wears alternates multiple times each year View attachment 77631View attachment 77632View attachment 77633View attachment 77634
Alternates and new uniforms are 2 different things... those OSU uniforms are just their same threads in different colors. There is 0 chance we ever wear anything close to a vice uniform color-way, they aren't University of Miami colors.
Our uniforms are sick.
From the early 2000's our uniforms we're modern until Richt took the program back to the 80s. Old heads love the 80s replicas bc of nostalgia. Recruits don't give a **** about what happened in the 80s, they want to look fresh. I guarantee Manny gets rid of the 80s style uniforms and modernizes our look. Nothing about our uniforms now reflects the city of Miami which is all about flash and style.
I know this is a bit off-topic but my major complaint is this: Can we please, for the love of god, stop wearing the goofy white shoes with our uni's and go back to wearing black cleats every week? I don't know how everyone else feels, but I've just always felt like black cleats look tough, and the white style is wack, plain and simple.
Your premise is absolutely wrong given that every major program has an old school look. The most famous jerseys in college football are old school look. Notre Dame, Penn State, Texas, USC, Florida, Tennessee, Michigan. How many more do I need to name? Their recruiting is just fine. The uniform thing has and always will be a misnomer. The New Miami needs to win, that is all.
P.S. I am not an old head (recent grad in 2017) and I believe our uniforms to be perfect, captures the old and the new perfectly. It does not need to be one or the other.
Objectively, the 2014 Nike uniforms were the worst I've seen us sport.
Adidas has done a lot of bad with our threads but they got it right now. Let's not fvck with it anymore outside of alternates here and there.
There aren't any programs that are a recruiting threat that have gimmicky uniforms.
I agree w u that Adidas got it right, but u really thought the 2014 joints were bad? The kids loved them and they were really well made, imo. No way those joints were worst than that half and half bull chit Nike gave us.
All of those programs u named have a much longer history than Miami. Miami has only been relevant since the 80s. We were the first to sign a deal with Nike and were considered innovators when it came to uniforms. "TNM" under Manny will get modern unis. If u can't tell, Manny is taking every step to separate his tenure from the previous one.
