The Defensive Line

It would have been better if the D played like it did last night, but without Diaz there. We could have thrown it all into this trainwreck and been done with it. And, I agree. Simpson is a good hire.

I agree with everything you said, but the LBs and SAFs were washed on so many plays.

The run fits were god awful as a whole and it’s difficult to judge too much on a exhibition game were business decisions were being made left and right.

Miami DL was suspect even last year, Clemson owned them and so did Pitt. The whole defense was/is overrated a bit they are a good unit, not quite Elite

This is a lame excuse. It's the defense's responsibility to get itself off the field.

No...all the slurpers on here(as you can see from the other posts) its the offense's fault the D gave up 333 yards rushing. Its the offense's fault for the D getting exposed as usual against a quality O team. According to the slurpers. The D is top 5 in nation cause the stats against the shlt competition we play show it. But there are 15 other D that are better than ours and its not close.

Today is not the day to bash the defense. We were lucky they didn't quit in the 2nd quarter.

BINGO! It was only a matter of ETERNAL TIME when Miami's D would throw in the proverbial Green and Orange towel. After all Miami is 7-6 only because of the defensive unit CARRYING Richt's sorry *** lame offensive offense and a chitty special teams unit.

Those guys appeared checked out, mentally. A 7-5 team who could've easily been 5-7 (or worse) had it not been for the defense, seemed very uninterested (no surprise there, ofc). The effort (and coaching) wasn't there to beat a peewee team.

On top of that we don't play worth a **** in the "cold" anyways. We're mentally weak (as a team) which is a direct correlation to the HC. Like the refs, they were just ready to get the game over with. A total embarrassment, yet only fitting for the season they had.

Yeah. Miami came out FLAT and never had that energy and what not.

LOL, his Oline got owned by a bunch of pastey white boys from Wisconsin.

If Miami had those Anglo-Saxon's, Miami may have finished 10-2 this season. But then again, Richt and his atrocious offensive offensive staff would still be on the sidelines.

Wisky knew that with their best player opting out Miami would be weaker up the middle, which just so happens to be where Wisky has built the strength of their program and has been their identity forever. All they had to do was pound the rock and wear Miami out. Simple really. The first play from scrimmage told you all you needed to know. Miami was fortunate to be down only 14-3 at half, and mainly because the D hung in and Wisky wasn’t about to beat themselves by putting the game on the arm of a backup QB.

Finally, a Cane dude would some college football acumen and what not.

Really? The defense is garbage. Wisconsin was raping our defense from the very beginning.

It usually takes Manny's D one or two drives to figure out what the O is doing and lock down. Same thing happened last night. They gave up the first TD and then before they could sit down had to go back out. I don't blame them for the second TD. Then they locked it down until it was obvious our O was not going to score again and they gave up. After the season they had, I don't blame them for anything last night.

Yeah. Quarteman was LEVELED on at least four plays last night.:zczkqmritjdsoaq.jpg: That's put on his back and fat ***.

they were just over flowing so hard that they Wiscy was able to hit power and counter in the A gap (which wheres its supposed to hit if those LB flow that hard)

And to add to that if our offense scored 28 points in every game against P5 teams we would be 11-1 or something like it. I don't care enough to look it up. Everything wrong with this season was the offense fault and I am not going to blame the D for one bad game.

Look, I am not blaming last night's loss on the defense. I am simply saying what smart football fans know. Our defense is overrated. Our defense always performs poorly against offenses with a pulse. A smart coach with average Talent, not exceptional Talent, will always beat Manny Diaz.

Chryst OUT COACHED Diaz and Richt, again. The LB's " flowed " too hard because they were ANTICIPATING Wisconsin's jet-sweep runs. The jet-sweep is Wisconsin's BREAD and BUTTER. And that's been their rushing forte for the past 15 years now. Heck, Wisconsin didn't even run jet-sweep play last night. Because they was gashing Miami up the **** whole all night long. All night long.

We had more turnovers than points, and you go after the defense. Get ****ed. By your logic, it's the defense's fault that Rosier's first pass was an interception, and the first pass caught by a receiver happened in the 3rd quarter.
