The curious case of Bubba Baxa

Out of curiosity, who was his holder last year and who is it this year?

I've seen a few really bad hold. That extra point looked like the laces were pointed directly at his foot. I remember a kick earlier this year the holder didn't spin a well. With kickers, a large piece is mental but the snapper/holder play a critical role as well.

That's a subtle thing that the mob missed, not making excuses for the kid but there's no one to help him.

Baxa is horrible. Statistically, we have a better shot of converting a 4th down or going for the two-point conversion then letting Baxa line up for a field goal. There are a bunch of kids out there passed up for scholly's and Baxa was the one **** that squeaked his *** through. Someone broke him. 'Canes need to exploit every loophole in the NCAA rule book to revoke his scholarship and send Bubba packing to some Sunbelt Conf. school.

Better kicker right here, and would have more heart.

Do you think he's missing them on purpose? What's the point of just being nasty to someone who just can't do what they so badly want to do? Like at other positions, players are already aware that if someone else is better, they can be replaced. We apparently don't have anyone more consistent right now.
Sure, that's a reasonable take. Look, I don't hate the guy as a human being or hope he fails at life. But a kicker is a very surgical aspect of football. You're asked to do a pretty basic thing but do it really freakin well, especially at the critical moments. There simply isn't much room for error. When the kicker for the team I bleed the colors of misses one super important kick after another, many of which are kicks a high school kid makes in his sleep, I have the right to call that player a bum and hope he never kicks for the team again. If we have absolutely no other option at kicker, than obviously that's a way bigger issue and the staff should be ashamed. I don't want to fix bubba. I want someone else kicking FGs. I'd rather have a converted soccer player at this point.
