I kind of disagree with this response. For any employer, it is never a bad thing to pay at the top of the street. And lets not get it twisted, playing D1 football is a job. Other perks are cool, but if the money is not there, none of that bs matters. We should lean into highly compensating our employees. It is not a fake crime anymore.

Makes me think of the Mark Mathews situation. He chose the bag over being great and great for the home team. Have a feeling Texas A&M offered him an amount, Miami wasnt willing to match or more, Mark got his feelings hurt and than he did that whole childish display of a commitment. Miami has money but not like Texas A&M, Oregon, Ohio State and a few others. We offer competing money and greatness, with a family atmosphere. If thats not enough, good luck, you weren't meant to play for the U anyway with that mentality. This is just a feeling, not me thinking I really know the situation.
