The CFP Committee will be fully exposed as frauds Tuesday night

we need a twitter campaign for all committee members from top 15 programs to step down due to conflicts of interest is insane.

It would be interesting if SMU wins the ACC and that should make our loss a "good" loss. Don't know how the CFP committee would be able to spin it.

They need to agree to play that game during rivalry week. It's absolutely pointless to continue to play big games the first few games. It clearly has very little influence.

If somehow we could come to an agreement with Notre Dame to play that game every year at the end of the year that would go a long way to mitigate being in the ACC. I genuinely think it would help Notre Dame as well.

With all respect to you, how much do you want to bet? I am pretty **** certain of this. Even in the AP poll, where they were already ahead of us and which i realize is meaningless now, the gap in points closed, and Miami went past Utah.

i get the committee sucks, acknowledge SEC bias, realize we are getting screwed on head to head, etc.
its just not happening with Vanderbilt

Sure, but that’s the point, they’re different scenarios.. BYU has played Texas tech and got whooped , if they play again with the same result .. they won’t “be the SMU of last year .. they will be out.

I’d also say BYU hasn’t exactly played anybody either .. not the toughest schedule

Per the CFP Committee Chairman, he just stated last week that the H2H between Miami and Notre Dame was not being considered since they did not have us in the same "pool", but we were gaining ground. If they were to rank us at 12, per the Chairmans own words the H2H against Notre Dame would have to be factored in as we would now be in the same pool/quadrant as Notre Dame. The committee compares teams ranked 1-4, 5-8 and 9-12 to there own pool. So in this scenario, we should actually be ranked ahead of Notre Dame Tuesday night, and be in the playoffs regardless of any other outcomes as long as we beat Pitt.

Now, we all know the above is not going to happen and this is were the committee will be exposed as frauds. They can't move Notre Dame up into the 5-8 quadrant to avoid Miami and Notre Dame being in the same pool since none of those teams lost and #8 Oklahoma beat a ranked Mizzou team. So instead, they will keep Utah at #12 or have Vandy jump us if they do drop Utah.

But we literally should not need anything but to beat Pitt to be in. The Miami media should tear into the committee Tuesday night and use there own explanations to rankings against them.

Miami will be ahead of Utah tuesday imo
However, it would not shock me at all if they move Notre Dame up ahead of Oklahoma I know Oklahoma beat the ranked team, but it was not impressive and the team never should’ve been ranked to begin with
But they are going to Run cover for Notre Dame as long as they need to to avoid a head head comparison

Regardless in the at large conversation we need OU or bama to lose and I think vandy losing to Tennessee and BYU losing B12 ship will take care of itself

How did the metrics change positively for us? I know that SMU winning probably helps but we played a three and 7 team wouldn’t Vanderbilt’s win count for a bit more????
I have to think that Kentucky was a better metric for Vanderbilt than Virginia Tech was for us or maybe not lol

I agree that should now be a resume booster for us that we went to overtime lol so how are they gonna spin that?

I think they strength their schedule is better than ours or at least equal to

it will be very interesting to see what happens tuesday. yes the committee can do whatever they want with impunity, but the optics of moving ND above OU after OU has 2 straight ranked wins (1 against a top 10 Bama team) would be terrible and would be so obvious that they are trying to distance ND from us
 
I hope they ask the chairman this week how these comparative pools are formulated. Would be nice to get them on the record in terms of if they do 1-4/5-8/9-12 or in terms of 3 (or any other way).

At least it would be clear if Miami-ND were even compared.
