After today, there is no way Utah should be ranked ahead of Miami. They shouldn't have been to begin with. Going into today's game we already had a better SOR and SOS. Utah's best win on the season was against Cincy, while ours was against Notre Dame.

Utah was a 17.5 favorite at home, against a 5-5 Kansas State team and needed a TD in the last minute to secure a win. They gave up 47 points, 574 total yards, with 472 being on the ground.

While Miami's win was not spectacular, it was never in question and we went on the road and won by 17 as an 18 point fave.

With both teams having identical records, and Miami having a better SOR, SOS, more wins against ranked teams, and a better win overall, and todays abysmal showing by Utah, we should be in the top 12 but here is why we won't be.

Per the CFP Committee Chairman, he just stated last week that the H2H between Miami and Notre Dame was not being considered since they did not have us in the same "pool", but we were gaining ground. If they were to rank us at 12, per the Chairmans own words the H2H against Notre Dame would have to be factored in as we would now be in the same pool/quadrant as Notre Dame. The committee compares teams ranked 1-4, 5-8 and 9-12 to there own pool. So in this scenario, we should actually be ranked ahead of Notre Dame Tuesday night, and be in the playoffs regardless of any other outcomes as long as we beat Pitt.

Now, we all know the above is not going to happen and this is were the committee will be exposed as frauds. They can't move Notre Dame up into the 5-8 quadrant to avoid Miami and Notre Dame being in the same pool since none of those teams lost and #8 Oklahoma beat a ranked Mizzou team. So instead, they will keep Utah at #12 or have Vandy jump us if they do drop Utah.

But we literally should not need anything but to beat Pitt to be in. The Miami media should tear into the committee Tuesday night and use there own explanations to rankings against them.

If we are in the last quadrant come Tuesday night, we should not be 12th as we would be in the same pool as Notre Dame and H2H would have to be factored in per the committee chairman, meaning Notre Dame would need to be below us and if we win next week, they would be out.

Yep on Tuesday it should be

9. Alabama
10. Miami
11. Notre Dame
12. BYU
13. Utah

If we jump Utah watch Vandy jump both of us to keep ND at a distance
The sunshine pumpers at ESPN plus Joey Galloway were discussing how great Vandy was at beating a lowly Kentucky team. Meanwhile, ND wins 70-7 vs Syracuse (a team we took time to put away). These are the messages that they want out there to negatively impact Miami’s support for being in the top 12. The message seems clear; we are not getting in as long as ESPN has any clout in skewing the decision.

unless they move ND up a spot...

Sure looked like Syracuse just laid down yesterday. But we all know the Committee won't say that.

You meant, ...conitinue to be exposed...

Fixed it.

Kicking Utah would make the most sense. They might as well add TV ratings to the decisions process. Miami and ND have much better pull than Utah. Now Miami and Utah have the same record and Utah almost lost. That would solve the problem. They’ll get pounded again by Texas Tech too, even though that shouldn’t penalize them, it’s a reality.

Basically Notre Dame is getting credit for losing to Miami. While Miami is not receiving any credit for beating Notre Dame.

If things were fair, Notre Dame would be boosting Miami’s resume
