Miami ties and background - GA for Miami in 1986. DC under Butch from 1995 - 2000 and 2007 at North Carolina. You get your defense first coach here. Left one season before National Championship year. Hasn't won the big one yet, still hungry.

DC for the Ravens from 2008 - 2011. (11-5, 9-7, 12-4, 12-4). Ravens were 3rd best defense in every year. Left one season before NFL Championship year. Again, hasn't won the big one yet, still hungry.

11-5 for 3 years as HC of the Colts. Season ended losing to the Ravens, Patriots and Patriots. Two of which went on to win the Superbowl. 3-5 currently, 1st in woeful AFC south. Reaming games (soft schedule):

Falcons
Bucs
Steelers
Jags
Texans
Dolphins
Titans

Last year of contract with the Colts.

Andrew Luck has been unlucky this year and is out with injuries. May make that soft schedule a little less soft.

Current salary is $4.5 million (we are in the ballpark).

He is a possible choice but mostly if he brings Butch as his DC and recruiting Czar. Otherwise, we seen no college HC on his resume.

Like Butch, this is a hire where we better be willing to spend on an OC too. I'm a Pagano fan but I'd be concerned if we brought him in and then made Dorsey OC or something.

Pagano was 2-2 his 1st yr with the Colts then took sick leave. Bruce arians then took over the team and transformed it. Its hard to say how he would do with the Colts if the GM got him an OL and didnt draft all first round busts not names Luck

Blows alot of the canidates being mentioned out the water. In what world does a coach with head coaching and very success nfl coordinator credintials would be looked down upon compared to some these weak *** mario and strong type names.

Agreed. This disagreement for this is "not Butch, therefore, BAD."

He'd be a fantastic hire. I don't think it'll happen -- NFL teams will give him a shot -- but he checks all the boxes.

I like him given his success and the complete lack of support offered to him by his drug-addled owner and pants-on-head retarded GM, Grigson. He wasn't even allowed to pick his own OC (he wanted Chud, who has looked more than solid since taking over). Grigson forced him to hire Pep Hamilton, who was a complete disaster. He hasn't had much of a say in drafting or free agency, and Grigson has made it clear that he prefers the Matt Millen school of thought on drafting - taking only skill players in the first 3 rounds every year. His refusal to build any semblance of a solid O-line has nearly gotten his number 1 overall, franchise QB killed. Pagono's tenure has as HC of the Colts has been a constant power struggle between himself and the GM, who is backed by Irsay.

Given the ******* clown fiesta he's found himself in he's gotten results every year. Pagano would be an A+ hire here. He knows how to deal with a suboptimal situation. Getting Pagano and somehow convincing Chud to come as OC is probably the best hire UM could dream to make.

He was DC one of those years

I want UM to find a way to bring Pagano. I think his Coordinators and position coaches could have some NFL guys and thats what intrigues me the most. So we can finally get some real coaching down here instead of high school up and comers filling up the coaching staff.

If not Butch Id be happy with Pagano. I like the idea of Herman but I dont think UM wants anyone thats not at a power 5 school.

Is Blake aware that the Gators hired a non power 5 coach who is doing very well?

Herman and McIllwain basically have the same resume.

I'm sure he knows.. they all know. Goldie left behind such a toxic situation they are soured on the fact they hired a con man from Temple. Its undeserved criticism to judge a coach bc of what conference they are in but blame Goldie. Thats why IMO they arent going back to that well. They've hinted such on different occasions.

You gave him credit for coordinating about 8 defenses he didn't coordinate.

whatever you say homeslice.

He's not wrong. He wasn't the DC under Butch. He was the DB coach and ST coach from 1995-2000. He was the DC in the Sugar Bowl game after Schiano left. He wasn't the DC in Baltimore from 2008-2011, he was the DB coach from 2008-2010 and the DC in 2011.
