Due to the hurricane last year our bye week was moved. Some dont think it's a big deal but we played 10 games in a row without a break, and the bye week we were given was cut short due to players being able to go home. Some say it's part of the game, and I agree but 10 games in a row is what pros do not college players. Very few teams go 10 games straight with no bye and come thru unscathed. Meanwhile in Clemson they got a very well placed bye, 7 games into their season, and they had a good season with little struggles. Now fsu had 11 games in a row and they didn't handle it very well at all.

All this to say a well placed and well utilized bye week will truly benefit this 2018 squad I expect a strong finish from this team. Clear the first 7 games and get to the bye to make this playoff run.

I agree. The long stretch combined with our inability to pick up 3rd and short wore on our defense down the stretch. Our OC & Malik better have learned the value of moving the chains. It's not just the points that count...

FWIW, Mark Richt has been quoted as saying that it’s the defense’s job to get themselves off the field if they want to rest. The offense’s job is to score points and if he feels that running tempo gives them a better chance or sees the opportunity to maybe score on one play, he’s going to do it every time.

Just thought you should know that you and the head coach have philosophical differences.

A great coach up north thought the same thing and in all his years as "the" offensive innovator he won a grand total of 1 NC while we were picking up 3rd and shorts and winning 5. Just a thought. Maybe you and our above reproach coach should take note of that. After all it was Spurrier who blew a 28-3 lead in the 4Q at the Doak. I bet Richt remembers that one...

We were bound to drop a game to an inferior oppenent the way we were playing most of the year. We weren’t beating Clemson if we had 100 bye weeks. We had 3(?) weeks off before Wisconsin and that didn’t help.

With all that said, I think a bye week where it is now will benefit us especially the young guys who will be playing a lot and will need a breather.

Until I see a double-blind, peer-reviewed, clinical trial regarding the "Bye Week Effect" I'm not buying any of it.
