The BOT pegged Diaz long before Richtirement

The chain. The average 20th ranked defense. His last name. His twitter game. That was enough for our esteemed Board to fall deeply in love.

This BOT, egged on by a bunch of Daddy’s biggest supporters, had clearly determined long before Richtirement day that whenever Richt left, Diaz would be the guy.

In their minds, and the minds of many football illiterate “fans”, he was a perfect slam dunk hire bc of these criteria:

“cultural fit” — this mildly racist opinion holds zero water given our three best coaches were white dudes from the sticks.

“he fixed our defense” — his defenses ranked in the 20s here, and for his career in the 30s. There were at minimum 20 better performing DCs if we wanted to go the assistant route.

“the chain” — do i even need to explain why this isnt a qualification for Head Coach at a major university?

Yes, blake needs to go, as does the ENTIRE athletic department down to the secretaries. But the deeper issue is a BOT that is completely and utterly hopeless.

So you really think Blake James just acted completely on his own? You think he was authorized to spend over ten million dollars without having the Board’s consent? Of COURSE the board made the decision, and it was made long before richt retired. Whenever richt was finished it would go to Diaz. it is painfully obvious.

If this was true Manny would not have gone to Temple to begin with take your conspiracy theory garbage somewhere else.

Manny didnt know Richt was retiring when he took the job, nor was he named HCIW. Why wouldnt he go take a HC gig? The moment richt retired he was going to be offerred.

It's sad - the BOT/AD has shown they are incapable of making a good hire and instead, victim to slick, fast talking used car salesmen. Just look at the last 3 awful hires (Diaf, Alf, Rantard). These guys managed to talk themselves into a job and fooling the admin with a binder or no nonsense policies, etc. BOD/AD eats that stuff up.

Manny went to Temple BEFORE Richt "retired". He went there knowing full well if he did well he would be back the second Richt left. He wasn't expecting Richt to retire. At least not retire so soon.
