The Big Ten Sucks

I wouldnt say harbaugh is a bad coach, but people are really obtuse about cfb and what it takes to win.

Its possible to get lucky with recruiting, but for the most part, the formula is set based on assets and liabilities, which is to say recruiting grounds and competitor strengths.

Michigan and Harbaugh is an awkward mix. He fit Stanford well.

Harbaugh's scheme is oriented towards passing and skilled athletes. But Michigan's recruiting access to recruits is suboptimal for those players, and it has to play and win against teams that are optimized for size and strength, and it plays them in cold weather.

Stanford can recruit nationally for some kids because of its reputation, it played west coast teams that were less physical than Ohio St., it tended to play in better weather, and frankly he was lucky with some of the talent he recruited.

At Michigan, he's in a wedge. Hard to win through the big ten his way unless he really gets the right speed guys. He can, but it aint easy and every year the halo wears off him, it will get harder.

Go look at who the big ten plays out of conference. It's incredibly bad. Every single school except Ohio st.

Well thought out. He is square pen in rounds hole. MI is a school that our ex fat boys would have been better suited for instead of Miami. They their to turn us into cold weather cow football team.

Agreed; but, Stanford doesn’t get “lucky”. They just may have the most efficient process. They have very little attrition and the smallest class sizes. And, QBs seem to want to play there, which is the most important position in all of football.

SEC is probably best this year. Followed by ACC.

I think ACC is better than Big10 this year BC of the mid to lower teams. For example Duke straight up mauled NW this season.

Big 10 fans are pompous es. They act like the Big 10 is the cats *** and nobody can tell them otherwise, delusional. Remember before the BCS when the Rose Bowl was tied to two conferences. I never heard them speak of winning the National title only winning the Rose Bowl, the “granddaddy of them all”. I wonder how many National Titles they lose playing other than PAC-10 weakings. Michigan 98 for sure!

Whatever stats are mentioned they quickly point out all of the great coaches come from the state of Ohio. That’s their big talking point, big deal.
They are proud and I’m not sure it serves them well.

Michigan will have a very difficult getting back to prodominance unless living in Detroit somehow becomes cool. Ann Arbor blah blah blah.... It’s Detroit just like Coral Gables is Miami.

More like Boca Raton from Miami.

Not really, Boca has Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm. Ann Arbor only has Detroit. Plus, it’s 20 minutes from Detroit Metro Airport.
