Expanding the playoffs won’t do anything other than create risk for injuries and targeting calls to critical players. The same teams would still make The championship game.

We had our best class in quite awhile and our 4th best commit would be middle of the pack to the bottom of Bamas class rankings wise. We ain’t close.

For comparison, our fans get a rager over brinson. Well bama signed 4 wr’s ranked higher than him, all in the top 70

One thing they have in common is great coaching, QB and great OL

We need to fix coaching and OL and we can get really close .... somethings remain

this. People will be amazed at what a competent staff can do here. Look at when richt joined. We all suffered so long under Alf and the noD and in no time at all, our defense was miles better with simply a new coach and staff. Look at this year’s offense. Put a real good HC in charge and you’ll see a difference. We may not be big 4 type of good right away but top 10 type of good is definitely within reach

We still weren’t that good. We went 8-4 and then the next year tripped over our balls to end the season. We can definitely be above average, but we have miles to go to be a great program.

I heard a good idea the other day. Reduce scholarship numbers so the talent gets spread around more. That’s probably needed.
but above all else you need competent coaching with an ability to develop talent.

Been that way for a while. Basically college teams, and then a handful of paid semi-pro teams masquerading as college teams.

Despite our shortcomings, we arguably should have won 2-3 of those games. Not bad for year 1 post Alf.

Some of it is evaluation too. Like if I had to say right now.... I think Romello Brinson is the worst of the 3 WR's we signed. I wasn't blown away by his tape at all. To me, it looked just like the tape of the WR we always sign every year. Nothing special.

But Brashard Smith's tape is sick... dude looks like a young Santana Moss. And Jacolby George looks fluid and athletic.

So we'll see. But yeah I agree, the difference between Miami's class and Alabama's is night and day. We're not closing the gap unfortunately.

Those programs take football very serious at the highest levels of the school. Look at their coaching staffs, they don’t nickel ans dime when it comes to resources! They not trying to create “student-athletes”. Where did Jimmy Johnson mindset go!!!
