The Arch hype train is derailing already

If you go back and look at my posts when he was coming out of HS you will see that I told everyone from watching him in HS playing against crap competition that he wasn’t anywhere close to the hype he was getting. He was much better as a runner than he was a passer.

He has two - three more years to prove me wrong but I don’t think he will.I like the family and a lot of pressure was put on him because of his name but so far he’s beefed up his numbers against the crap teams he’s played and been ok-meh against the better competition.

Sark has put even more pressure on him this offseason but I really hope he proves me wrong cause he does seem to be a good kid but I don’t think he will be the second coming of Peyton,Eli or even Archie.

if you're not going to actually read my post, why comment on it?

Forgetting all that, can I count on your vote for Porster of the Year?

I missed two words. I skimmed it. Sue me. Lord knows there are plenty of lawyers on the site.
If missing two words - that weren't cited for corroboration, nor were critical to most of the back and forth - is the basis of your argument, then bless your heart.

Yeah you can have my vote. I expect some free **** in return.

Yes. There is an entire thread on Mario on Joe Rose, the QB portal and Mensah's 2 years of eligibility.

No correlation between 2 top projected QBs, both playing for teams with playoff potential, both with eligibility beyond this year?

Nope. Totally beyond comparison. I am sure the stats between the 2 are totally different, separated by a whopping 1 INT and 1 Total TD last season...
If you dont see the difference between the two QBs I cant help ya.

Arch came in with no accolades and Mensah was proclaimed QB God rolling into Tulane.

Nailed it. Heavy sarcasm.

Mensah won the conference title at Duke and lost the conference title game at Tulane

Arch **** the bed every year while having God status.

I am gonna go ahead and assume you are trolling. Well played.

Jesus

Sarkisian's ego is too fragile to take the bullet if Manning's development stalls, Texas doesn't meet expectations and the pitchforks come out.

We'll hear the third-party whispers of how the backup QB is actually a better fit for Sark's system, etc, etc

Go watch his high school highlights. He was playing against short, fat white guys who’d be lucky to run a 7.3 forty time. Made him look way better than he actually is.

Texas could easily go 8-4 with this schedule. Could be even worse if the train comes off the tracks.

He's a good athlete, and to his credit he played behind a pretty bad OLine last year and he stood tall in the pocket and made some throws. I don't think he's an all world talent but he's good enough to succeed if he has pieces around him. There's no execuse for him not to have a big year with being in the same system for four years & everything around him at the skill positions. I still question if that OLine is improved from last year, if they are still mediocre, then it's on Sark to find ways to not let Arch get hit throughout the year.

Now I'm concerned with your evaluation of Miami players if you think Arch is a stud.

He is Daniel Jones with the Manning last name. He can run well in a straight line, but his footwork and mechanics passing are awful. .

Seriously, you guys who think Arch is still gonna prove to be a great QB, are you not concerned about his throwing mechanics and footwork?

With his last name and pedigree, you would think the ONE THING that would be rock solid would be his throwing mechanics. But the film doesn’t lie and that is NOT the case. That says a lot.

No, I would say JJ McCarthy. Does (or tries to do) the little things right. Tries to focus on proper mechanics & going through progressions but just doesn't have a natural feel for the game. I liken it to people who study well & generally get good grades but are poor testers.
As a Vikings fan, it's actually insane how he misses layups still. He has the arm talent, good athlete, but his mechanics are still outta whack, he's trying to throw through the receiver every time, and can't play 2 games without being injured. When he came to Minnesota, he said that he had to "(re)learn how to play QB." And it's year 3, and he may get traded this weekend.

It may cost KOC his job, which would suck.

**end rant**

As someone who could probably run a 7.3 forty (on a good day, with the wind at my back) I find these comments incredibly offensive and condescending.

What wrong with his Uncle Rico throwing style? He could throw a pigskin a quarter mile.

I mean I’d probably have to stop halfway through the dash and take a smoke break, so I get it.
