1) Our Right Guard’s flagrant holding (**** he was doing a piggy-back ride) that got the 53yrd run to the 5 called back.

2) Hightower’s drop that that hit him in the hands with an easy catch that stalled our drive

3) Mallory’s 2pt conversion drop in the Endzone....

All 3 plays killed 3 potential entries into the red zone for scores that could have made this a totally different outcome. There were many other mistakes of course—- but these 3 were egregious and showed the weaknesses of this Offense....

1) D2 level Offensive line play

2) Lack of clutch players on O other than Williams, Dallas and CamRon

Scaife didn't need to do that. Cam was well past that LB and there was no way he was catching. All he had to do was let go once the defender turned.

We scored after Hightower’s drop

This is so bad and so wrong. Did you even watch the game?

Other than red zone offense the o played more than good enough to win. The ol actually got better as the game went on.

Also I’m pretty sure we scored on the drive with the drop and hold, and Mallory’s drop was a 2pt conversion.

Other than all those errors it’s a good post. Would read again.

Miami scored a td on the drive Hightower dropped that ball

Scaife has a perfect block and pancaked him. Ticky rack call period.

Mallory dropped 2 point conversion obviously was very costly

Clark made mental mistakes but was a beast in the run game. I think the ol might be set.

Scaife bull**** penalty ended up being huge in determining the game. We would've scored with about 8 minutes left on the clock. Instead we scored with 4 and we got the ball back down 3 with about a minute and a half remaining.

We do a fine enough job beating ourselves refs no need to pile on and make it harder.

That was not holding as hands were inside.. he was not pulling but pushing.. not a hold. The defender tried to turn around while getting blocked.. not a hold

Yeah we gave these 2 games away, our margin of error for victory is small to begin with but we give ourselves no chance with these stupid mistakes we make or giving the refs a chance to decide game outcomes

He was locked on the defender too long. When the running back is behind the lineman, Scaife and the defender are engaged. As the RB passes by, the defensive lineman is going to release to try to make a play. If you don't let go, it's going to be a holding call. We see this all the time with WRs blocking downfield. Both are locked up, but as soon as the ball carrier passes, you have got to release the defender as he is no longer engaged with you.

An unfortunate lesson for Scaife.

Never should've had to even go for two if Baxa makes the goddamned PAT.

Put Miami in piston to have to go for two after scoring when it was 20-19. Missed two-point conversion made it 25-20, leaving the Heels to have to go for two (which they wouldn't have) when they finally scored and made it.

Baxa makes the PAT, it's a 27-27 ball game late and Miami is driving for a game-winning field goal, or at worst, overtime.

Conversely, had Mallory caught the two-pointer OR Williams ran it in—the Heels attempt the point after to tie and don't go for two, either.

That missed PAT was another dagger from Miami most mentally-shot kicker since Andy Crosland.

3) Mallory’s 2pt conversion drop in the Endzone....Williams should have run the ball in. Entire world saw that and it's inexplicable as to why he chose a tough catch over just diving for the pylon.

2) Lack of clutch players on O other than Williams, Dallas and CamRon...Don't forget getting Jarren being tripped up for the 4th & 1 early and the opposite of clutchness on defense or specials.

Defense and special teams remain the biggest reasons we are 0-2.

Did you Strowbridge come in unblocked on the extra point. There's no way Baxa had a chance. The first missed field goal was also tipped. I don't get the Baxa bashing. He's not the reason we lost. He's not the only guy on special teams.

Having said that, he would have showed me something if he sacked up and made that 50 yarder to send it into overtime.

That was my buddy's perspective after the game. I can feel it but the deja Vu moments kill me. What ifs aren't a consolation anymore. For the sake of our Canes and our brotherhood something has to give....
