Mario has one big surprise like Hayden Lowe who was never on the radar till **** near the week he flipped with USC beat writers typing up quotes of him being locked in

Hoping it’s BPW or Tank

I know 300 is the magic number, but look at who are lowest rated recruits are:

Santeus (last in our class ranking)
Bacon
Sparks
Woodrow
Pickett
Evans
Wyman
Jennings
Mallory
Edwards (the LB from Orlando)

These are the 10 lowest rated players. Would you drop any of these guys just to help improve our class rating?

The 2025 class was rated poorly by all the experts and pointed to by the mopes here that Mario ain't it. But, the 2025 class as just freshmen have already made significant impacts on the team and could very well out perform Mario's best rated class the 2023 class.

I’d drop Evans, Bacon and 2 of the OL right now.
 
This range is totally fine as long as we continue our commitment to the portal.

When you add both other the 2025 HS/Portal class is super elite.

If we recruited over them, then absolutely.

If Tank Jones or one of the other elite DL jump on board then yeah Bacon gets dropped. But, if we have room on the newly expanded roster why bother?

I love this class so you’re preaching to the choir. But it goes without saying, but we are not playing with the big boys from a recruiting standpoint if we’re at 275 with 33 commits. Just far too many low rated players…. But to your point this 25 class has proven the experts wrong thus far…. But is that sustainable? Time will tell because this seems to be Mario’s way of recruiting

I guess a counterpoint would be Jimbo's historic class at TAMU that flamed out, and ultimately got him fired

If we are only looking at stars and rankings, then we end up with Coker-like classes.

At some point, we have to trust our evals. Interior OL aren't always going to be rated highly but you need interior OL. A 6'3/6'4 270lbs DL may not be rated highly because it's difficult to project that kid's growth, but can he add 25 pounds on his frame? This is why you bring kids in and evaluate body types. The computer needs at ON3 and 247 probably aren't doing that.

All of that to say not every 3 star is the same; context matters. The best example in this class is Santeus. That kid has freakish traits but is late to the recruiting game.
