That's not a stretch at all.
All of our wins were by double digits.
The FSU, UNC and ND games were very winnable.

In hindsight, I feel that the defense caused so much havoc that allowed us to get away with alot of smoke and mirrors on offense mask our weaknesses at qb. Losing Walton against FSU hurt, and Richards being in and out of the lineup most of the year was too much to overcome. Herndon going down against Pitt was the straw that broke the camel's back. Richt waited until the VT and Notre Dame games to lean on Rosier with QB lead draws as a new wrinkle and it worked really well for about a month. Those plays just didn't work against Pitt, or anyone else the rest of the year.

Still one of my favorite seasons that didn't end in a title.
 
Fun year. Will never forget it. Especially since it was a continuation from the strong 2016 finish. I think the Clemson game was the only game them boys were not competitive. Sure, could have lost more games but could have won more too. Thank you CMR
