I was thinking about this, i don't think the scheme is bad, i think Richt play calling is erratic. There are times when i feel like was too pass happy last season especially with Rosier. This season with Perry i think he is calling with a mind of not to have him make big mistakes. If we had more first down throws Perry would have gone deep more and probably backed up FSU defense, not only with his throwing ability but also with his ability to pick up yards with his legs. We called a timid game even while we were behind.
One thing Golden did when he was here, we had good offensive plans v FSU, a function of Kaaya being a smart QB but our stretch running plays i think suits our athletes. I think the play where DJ gets horse collared is what im talking about. It worked and its like we never tried it again. I wanna see more formations, and we did see motion v FSU but its a easy way for a young QB to identify coverages. Lets see more of that. Also, where is the ACE double TE. That's a great formation for slowing down pass rushes and create miss matches as they will likely play that with base D and if they don't u should have numbers running it. Im sure these coaches know these things i just don't understand why we not doing it more. I don't know if they are just saying lets keep it simple, keep down the penalties and TOs and win with fundamentals.
As for the ST, the guy coaching it is approaching No D territory.
