good confidence builder for the young guys on this team especially going into clemson because this win was on them. Hopefully we can finish strong at Pitt.

Can't have it both ways. The guys who claimed that culture was just an excuse said that we're so terrible because of coaching. So which is it?

I'm not miserable- I'm greatly amused by the dummies who spent the last 8 weeks saying that this team was full of quitters and losers. The rotten culture couldn't change until Mario brought in his own players. There is an entire thread about this. That's the reason we couldn't beat teams like MTSU. This was a terrific win but I'm trying to figure out how it was possible so that we can sustain it for the rest of the season. If the story we've been told all season is true (it's cultcha) there has to be some other explanation. It's anti mopery.

Have you missed the threads that said we can't even beat terrible teams because our coaching is so bad? Why aren't you questioning those threads tonight?

It’s coaching and always has been. If culture was so bad, the team wouldn’t have showed up to ply today

If the coaching was so bad, we wouldn't have been up by 28 in the 4th quarter.

You can't blast one claim and ignore the other.

Jacurri can be real good. TVD is real good. Jake probably has a lot of talent as well. But we are killing all of them with our offense
I thought Gattis was very good in the 2 long drives not asking too much of Jacurri and then finishing the drives with easy flips to the tight end.

But then we had penalties and asked Jacurri to do too much as a straight drop back passer and we didn’t score for almost 2 quarters even after starting a drive on the Tech 45 yard line.

It was almost like Gattis was at his best when he was scared to ask too much of Jacurri, and ran the ball effectively. Jacurri this season is basically a running QB who should only be asked to make easy throws or on sideline routes with single coverage. Think of a college version of Justin Fields. It can work if a team is willing to commit to it as the Bears have finally done. Its not pretty but can be effective.

Even garbage coaches can occasionally beat teams when they have a huge talent advantage. There’s not a single player on GT that Miami even recruited.

So we're going with "they didn't do anything special, they just had more talent". Interesting.
 
It felt good. Winning is always good.
I watched the game with zero expectations, so it was a pleasant surprise.
Let’s get at least one more, and become bowl eligible.
