Me too. It was very unprofessional.

Tried to mute it, but it doesn't work. The only way to turn it off is to mute the PC speaker and that affects other websites and videos.

Right. You have to mute it each time (refresh, etc.).

I clicked on the speaker icon, got the red line and it did not mute. What worked was closing the window, muting the PC's speaker icon in the tray. You can also lower the volume by moving the slider control downward.
