Thank you very much Mark Richt for the kind of man you are and everything you've meant to many fatherless young men in our society. Although you and I have had our football differences, when it comes down to being a man, a Christian man, there's much we share in common.

I've had the pleasure of meeting you and I quickly saw not only what was in your mind, but most importantly what was in your hear and soul. You Mr. Richt are a good man that your sons and daughter should feel proud to call, "My Father".

I am a member of one of our minorities communities where it is common for 90% of the kids to be Fatherless/Motherless. These are the communities where Mothers have to be super heroes and fill the shoes where Fathers have failed. A Mother trying to teach a Son how to be a man or a Father trying to teach a daughter how to be a woman. A mission almost impossible!

In steps Mark Richt, into a very poor home of a gifted athlete. An athlete coveted by many other Universities and Boosters with promises to these kids and their families that they have never seen. Money, homes, jobs, all illegal, but common, we know that the most successful ones have to play the game if they want to get the best athletes. No wonder kids continue to change their minds and de-commit, awaiting a better offer. Do you blame them? Have you ever gone to bed hungry? I have many, many times during my life, specially during my childhood! Trust me when I say it isn't fun at all.

Mr Richt Today's athletic world isn't for everyone. You stayed true to your heart and soul and made the right decision for you and your family. In the days, weeks, months ahead you may struggle with thoughts of whether you made the right decision. Be assured Mr. Richt that you have! The many hundreds of Fatherless kids that you have been fortunate enough to know and coach have become better human beings just by knowing you and being around you. Whether you agree or not, you have filled a "Father's Void" that otherwise this kids would never have had.

You are a good man Mr. Richt. May God bless you and your family for all of the sacrifices you have made for our children.

So long for now Mr. Richt.
