Thank you College Gameday

A school president that doesn't care about the most visible part of his university doesn't deserve to be the school president. That's just negligence.

I can understand hiring a high level AD and staying "hands off" while just getting them what they need. But when things are not going well, the President has to care. Not caring is not doing your job.

It’s almost like he/they don’t understand what a good athletics program does for a school. This is American culture. Look at a school like UF, academics has been on an upward trajectory the last 1-2 decades while their athletic program has. Kids definitely consider that when choosing schools. Creates a proud alum base and I’m sure brings in more funding all around.

Tiny nitpick: the stadium issue is overplayed. While not ideal by any means, there’s no realistic solution and it’s not like the Orange Bowl was on campus. Just because we can’t fix this issue should not make it so the rest of his arguments are anything but spot on.
Place was sold out and rocking in 2017 against VT, ND, etc. and ironically remember Fowler and Herby commenting on how impressed they were with the atmosphere

A lot of fans rip on Kirk but he always seems to be pretty fair and somewhat rooting for us to be back.
The dude is just a huge fan of CFB, which is why he’s in the job he’s in. He’s passionate about this sport, so he wants teams like us, FSU, USCw, etc. to be “back.” Best damned buckeye out there as far as I’m concerned.

Now that this is being given national attention, I'd love to see local media really dive into 'what's wrong with THE U'. There's clearly something up in the athletic department and, clearly, people care and want to see us successful.

Sadly, people love reading about general incompetence, especially from someone considered to be educated and elite. I don't think Barry would, as it would probably kill his access to anything UM, but maybe even an independent media association. It's going to be a disappointing season with more 'upsets'. There will be tons of opportunities to give this department the exposure it needs.

Front page of ESPN.com. Definitely a rock bottom moment for this program.

The problem has always been the elitist don’t want to be known as a football school. They’ve always fought against it. This has always been the battle.
Which is hilarious cause elitist schools like Princeton, Harvard, and the other Ivy League schools would kick *** at football and were the first to even bring the sport to national acclaim. That’s the DNA of this country, not only should those cucks embrace it - they MUST. Our tradition in this sport demands it quite FRENKly.

Asshats.

You’re all on one if you think Blake James has any idea this is even being said about him. He’s blissfully unaware of anything that goes on around him. Just like athletics under him. And Frenk literally said out loud “I don’t care about sports”. He probably doesn’t even know what channel ESPN is on. Too busy watching HGTV

he doesn't give a **** about academics either too apparently

Herbie IS a solid UM fan .. he wants the program to get back to being a perennial top 5 program. He has picked UM in MANY games .. mostly based on emotions .. and UM got slaughtered in those games .. to his dismay.
Seems like a half dozen times in the last two decades we've claimed to be "back." Only to crash and burn. Luginbill questioned why any player who wanted to win football games whould choose to go to UM. Basically said our high-rated recruits are all about some unnamed "culture" and not about playing winning football.

“We’re not a football school. We’re not a basketball school. We’re not a baseball school. We’re an academic school.”
- Julio Frenk (probably)

…..checks academic rankings:
Ranked 55th in national universities
Ranked 45th in medical schools
Ranked 75th in law schools
Ranked 60th in MBA programs
Correct me if I'm wrong but ... haven't those numbers dropped under Frenk?
