Texas/TCU

Wish we would wise & forge a pipeline into Tejas, so then when UT fails like they are & Herman finally get axed we can reap the benefits from a wide open recruiting ground.

Every other top tier program digs deep into TX every year, Bama, Clemson, LSU, Oh St, Auburn, UGA, **** even UF, Oregon & USC have been recently hitting up TX, we ought to do the same.

We could supplement our QB & CB recruiting issues that we've had by going to TX, every year in every class they're deep at QB & CB.

Especially because both Herman & Jumbo Fisher have been huge disappointments at UT & TAMU considering how much they both get paid. We could capitalize off a gold mine of talent, combine TX prospects with FL kids we already get & we're an annual playoff contender.

Imo Texas is and has been the biggest disgrace in college football for 15 years. No reason they shouldn’t be a top team year in and year out. Hermans last season there
Real talk, when I first thought about following college football it was a toss up between Texas and Miami.

This is back in the early 00s after several years following the Panthers.

I thought "no way these two teams could ever not be there or there abouts".

Herman will get a pass IF he beats OU. And besides, replace him with whom?

Urban Meyer rumors in...1...2...3...

I'd love to know how he's failing so badly.

He did more with less at Houston.
Did he? Two years at Houston was not a large sample. Yes, he beat FSU in a bowl, and opened Year 2 with an upset over OU. He later lost to Navy, SMU, and Memphis. Beat a solid Louisville team. Yes, 22-4, but his rep was made by two upsets. What about the losses?

Because these coaches as well as fans fall into the sentiment that So.Fla. Has all the players you will ever need To fill the team and that there can’t possibly be any better players anywhere else in the country.

When they get their heads out their azzes and realize that there are other areas that play great HS Football besides The tri-county area maybe we can get back into Texas and La.

They’ve done a decent job getting into Ga but really need to get back into Texas like you say as well as La.

This is year 4 and he's already lost 16 games with Texas.

So yeah, he did more with less. He wasn't perfect by any means, but he should have been a safe bet for Texas.

His season season at UT they beat up UGA in the Sugar Bowl, finished 9th. UT was ‘back’, until they weren’t.

Your point is taken, but I don’t think his body of work at Houston was enough to warrant his reputation.

That's fair - but you're clearly always projecting with these smaller school HCs that punch above their weight.

You want to get on that train before another school does and you're left in their rear view mirror.

No disagreement there. You have to take the chance. You might hit a home run, like UF hiring Urban from Utah.
