Terry McCray

The DL needs warm bodies.

Rok, how do his measurables compare to Trent Harris?

People sleep on Patchan a bit. I know he hasn’t done much here but he was pretty highly ranked & had a nice offer sheet. I think he could be a very nice depth piece for us.

- Gray to LB: Never played LB, too late in the game to attempt this project. Better off bulking him up into an H-Back role.
- T. Johnson to DT: Not a plug and play position simply because a kid has size on paper.
- Langham to TE: Too soft to play big receiver role, no way in hale he'd make a good TE.

Other moves to consider:

Gray to LB

T. Johnson to DT

Langham to TE

When I opened this I thought it was going to say "left the program" **** mayne

This.

If anyone steps up on the DLine, I agree that it'll be Patchan.

Mannn them stats from high school ain't true. LOL

Irregardless bro if he's going to be here in 2018, might as well see what he can do as a DE.

Same with Tre Johnson. We're in pretty dire need of numbers along the DL.

McCray is that enormous fat blob, and UM is the Chinese guy who owns the all-you-can-eat buffet. Win to McCray.

Terry McCray.... It doesn't matter how much help at LB we need, its clear this guy isn't going to be providing it. Dude doesn't even play on special teams. Dude had a total of 6 ******* snaps this season, without injury.

In total, If we lost Shireffs, Harris, Milo, Jones, McCray, Knowles and Finley we'd be opening up 7 additional spots on our roster while losing 426 snaps (60 snaps per player). Guys that received less than 100 snaps: Milo, Jones, McCray, Finley - At the very least these guys should be gone.

A lot of armchair experts. Many of you were saying the same thing about Mike Smith who turned into a very capable back up linebacker. Mike Jackson who blossomed this year -same way.I havent seen McCray in practice to make any judgement. You dont dismiss guys who know your system unless they are woefully inadequate. This staff has developed players .

There was a kid from Palmetto who recorded like 175 tackles one year in the late 90s. Corey something. Went to FSU.

Sad day if we lose the best QB2 since Ryan Williams

McCray was a RS JR this year and played 6 snaps (all against Bethune Cookman) on the entire season!

Darrion Owens, who was our best Backup LB was also a RS JR, played 202 snaps.
Mike Smith, who was a below average backup and again a RS JR, played 180 snaps.
Charles Perry, who rarely played after UNC, is a True JR, and played 161 snaps.

Notice the difference? Owens was our best backup LB, and got 200 snaps. Smith was average to below average and got 180, throughout the season. Perry got most of his PT early in the season, but still got 160 snaps. Terry McCray, a RS JR got 6 ******* snaps. Dude is in his 4th years here. If that isn't a guy that needs to move on, idk what is.

**** Bradley Jennings played 27 snaps on the season, and 6 of them (same amount McCray played all yr) came in the ACC Championship game vs Clemson.
De'Andre Wilder played 42 snaps on the year, and 5 of them (1 less than McCray played all yr) came in the ACC Championship game vs Clemson.

Are you seeing the message here? ****, he got beat out by 2 freshman, and the only reason it wasn't 3 is because Steed Redshirted this yr to rehab from his ACL team. So Next year we have Smith, Perry, Jennings, Wilder, Steed all ahead of McCray. And you can go ahead and put Joyner ahead too....and those are just the **** backups. Sorry but if you're the 7th BACKUP (10th in total) in the rotation, and you are a **** RS SR, you gotta go.

Good luck to him wherever he transfers.

Between him and Mike Smith we've got two of south Florida's best recent high school pass rushers playing back up linebacker. At least Smith logged minutes as a reserve LB, I don't think McCray has played a snap on defense in his entire career. Maybe playing him at DE isn't a bad idea?

I am all for both of these guys getting moved into a pass rush specialist role on the line.

It doesn't open up a scholarship for Storm18 if he leaves so I don't see why people want him to get pushed out senior year considering we are already going to be well below the 85 limit.

The DL needs warm bodies.

Samoans make great DTs and OL. They are big and strong. Yes, the game is played in Samoa and other Polynesian islands (not just by Samoans living in the US). Yes, Samoans do have SAT issues.

Bottom line: we should be sending staff out there to put on clinics and recruit. Used to be only the Univ of Hawaii recruited Samoa; now, practically all of the PAC 10, and schools as far east as Kentucky. "A Samoan male is 56 times more likely to play in the NFL than an American non-Samoan" - Leigh Steinberg.
