are we ready to have the conversation about the lazy technique we've seen? i know the d-line doesn't have to first rounders, but alot of the issues i've seen is just terrible footwork, no urgency, free releases, not using the sideline as a defender ... @Memnon, would love to hear your take

based on the sample size i can understand the hesitancy to hire, however his recruiting has been a1

terrible eyes and misunderstanding responsibilities ... i've wanted to post this about jefferson for a few weeks, but i chilled on it ... but some of this stuff is egregious ... the td against o'connor was terrible ... he was 15 yards off the ball on the snap, and still got beat, that's bad feet/technique

Our defense is based on not giving up explosives, so its like you have to live with underneath stuff but now we are becoming leaky with explosives too.. Like huge down field stuff, we cant even defense a low percentage hail mary coverage..

Recruiting has been great yet coverage on air routes has been sorely lacking. Definitely could use an upgrade.

Terry played LB and we have no dedicated LB coach so I feel like that would be a good role change for him.

To ease the transition, we should get someone Hetherman is already familiar with. UCLA is holding opponents to the lowest completion percentage in FBS, and their DBs are playing very well.

Hetherman already brought over Matt Birkett who was the cornerbacks coach at JMU & elsewhere; I’d target Eddie Whitley Jr who worked with Birkett and Hetherman at JMU then utilize TJ as a LB coach.

Another option would be to switch TJ back to nickels coach and move Birkett over to cornerbacks.

Pass defense was average last year but the pass rush covered up a lot as they were 1st in sacks. The pass rush ain’t the same this year. On top of all the soft zone that they used last year too but it’s different when you under pressure

Jefferson played safety and hetherman is the LB coach
