Terrible take on Beck

Man Cam Ward helped Cam Ward become the first overall pick. Dude did the same **** at WSU just everyone who was watching cfb was a smooth brain and didn’t see it. The minute he transferred I said he would be the top pick in the draft and some people didn’t believe it.

This isn’t one of the typical AI generated articles that MSN tends to pull a lot of but it’s still drivel. The weird assumption that Georgia is a better place for a quarterback to improve his draft stock is based solely off “Georgia has been one of the best teams the last decade and Miami has been mediocre”. It’s pretty much the national opinion held by people who don’t know that much about college football. They have too much talent, especially on defense to completely fall off but don’t be surprised if Georgia’s offense falls back to what it was during the late Richt/early Smart seasons.
Yet here Miami is with the #1 QB in this years NFL draft.

Homie, he got a third round or later draft grade from the NFL last year.

This year he’s the first overall pick.

TV audience doesn’t improve draft status. Josh Allen was a first rounder and he played at Wyoming. Nobody watched that dude play in college.

Posted in another thread, but everything around Beck got worse from 2023 to 2024.

His OC, His OL, His Running game, and his receiving options.
He carried that offense. Look at their yards per carry against the best teams they played. The running game was nonexistent. 3.4 OC against Kentucky. 3.1 against Bama. 3.6 against Texas. 1.8 (!) against Ole Miss. 3.8 against Texas in the SECCG.

Their offense without Beck against Notre Dame was straight garbage. 10 points. 296 total yards. Two turnovers. They’re an 8 win team at best without him last year.

Some bozo GM speaking on anonymity says Beck is a red flag because he left Georgia for us. Piddly poo....and suck it

More Fluffing going on in this article then on the set of “Deep Throat”. Just sayin’
Honestly, I never even read it. I was just trying to end the MSN discussion.

My opinion on these types of articles is that 99% of the time the author knows less than the average CIS poster, which is already a pretty low bar. Just paying attention to the handful here who have a decent track record is more informative.

It’s a fair point, both takes in each side have fair points. If we were on that side we would probably say the same thing.

This article has some valid points, but some really bad ones.

First, they fail to mention that Shannon Dawson helped form Ward into the potential #1 pick. Yet they basically insinuate that Bobo is a better coach than Dawson. Most Georgia fans want Bobo gone as quickly as possible.

Second, they fail to mention that Georgia’s receiving core was terrible. Smart has recruited poorly there. The article just assumes because it is Georgia then they have great receivers. His best receiver in the past few years was a late blooming 3 star. At the same time Miami is loaded at that position.

Can I be the Debbie Downer here and ask why the **** we are so confident that Miami is "loaded" at receiver?

Daniels is maybe hurt. Trader looks great but has proven nothing. The rest of the room is completely unproven and we are definitively on the record as looking to upgrade in the Spring.

I am not saying that Georgia's WR room didn't stink. It did. But you cannot possibly look at our room and feel 100% confident that we are better.

Here is just one reason it was a great move for Beck:

Markel Bell 6'9 345 pounds
Matt McCoy 6'7 337 pounds
James Brockermeyer 6'3 296 pounds
Anez Cooper 6'6 338 pounds
Francis Mauigoa 6'6 342 pounds

Average size 6'6 331 pounds

I am buying stock now this will be the best OL in Mario/Mirabal's tenure to this point, and that is high praise considering the 2023 and 2024 OL's.

The "little guy" on the line is 6'3" 296.

Cam is a serious man that takes his craft seriously...

But he tightened up his game here a lot. He became R1P1 here. With Dawson. Gotta give Dawson his props, too. Cam gives him his flowers.

But the league is going to find out Cam is just built different.

I'll bite...let's say this was a quote from a NFL Scouts.

Some NFL Scouts legitimately suck at their job and use bull**** justification to either drop a guy or reach for another

-Mitch Tribusky was drafted #2 overall based on Lord knows what critera
-Daniel Jones went 1st round when literally not a soul outside of the Giants had him in the first two rounds
-Lamar Jackson went at the end of the 1st
-Aaron Rodgers slid all the way down

NFL GM Says Carson Beck Deciding To Leave Georgia for Miami is a Red Flag

When discussing the 2026 NFL Draft QB class one NFL GM told Georgia Bulldogs on SI, "(Carson) Beck, either by Kirby (Smart) letting him go, or choosing to go, either way is a big red flag. It certainly hurts him with us. He didn't leave in order to win, play against better competition, or get better coaching. A bad look for him. That makes no sense and makes you wonder a lot about a lot."
