Rhett Lashlee recruited him coming out of SMU. Very athletic, tries to stay in the pocket and throw the football from there, but once protection breaks down, you start to see the athleticism and his ability to create stuff outside of the structure.
His mechanics surprise me, arm goes up and through, has a good release and throws a nice deep ball. Wouldnt call him a massive gunslinger, his arm strength is okay, puts a lot of air under his balls once he is tasked to throw posts and gos down the field.
Unsure why he is so low rated. Redshirted in 2019 and now, I think with the departure from Lashlee, just doesnt seem to fit in. Plus, SMU has Preston Stone coming in and he will enroll in January. So theres that.
Given our QB room, give him a shot. He is a different type of quarterback that we dont have once King leaves.
