Temper Your Excitement

The reality is we have played no one at all. FAU got pounded yesterday, App St lost their main weapon in the beginning of the game, and no comment needed on FAMU. I'm sure the play book will get more challenging for our competition soon and Richt can can show us his play calling skills when he was OC under Bobby. Very pleased with the outcome and effort in Boone. No reason we can't beat everyone on our schedule if we stay healthy, the defense stays aggressive, and Kaaya plays like a 1st round pick. Go Canes and God Bless America!

Op this means we are better then Tennesee you ever heard of the transitive theory??

App state lost three games in two years entering yesterday. No p5 team ever played there and they were a top 40 team in the nation. Yesterday was a good win and dominated the way we should in a rowdy environment

We?

Gacaneaddict gets it. Francois throws the ball on the run so skillfully with precision and speed. Oh oh I'm sorry, Brad does that better. Lol. We are going to battle this kid for 4 more years. BETTER THAN JAMEIS when he leaves FSU barring injury.

I'm agreement that we should celebrate these wins. A win is a win, and we've won convincingly, in a way the a good Miami team should. It's been a while since we've consistently done that.

Looking deeper - OP has a good point.

Halftime score of Miami-FAMU - 28-3. Next week, Halftime score of Coastal Carolina-FAMU - 36-7. FAMU lost their homecoming game to D2 Tuskegee yesterday 20-17.

Halftime score of Miami-FAU - 14-3. Next week, Halftime score of Kansas St.-FAU - 42-0.

Tennessee struggles with Ohio yesterday, and were getting handled by VT until VT fumbled inside their 10 twice. Hard to gauge how good App st. really is.

The teams we've beat have looked really, really bad. If we handle GT like we should I'll be on board, but I'd like to see it against a real team before getting too excited. I've been burned by thinking "we're back!" too many times the last 10 years to know better.

Why the F would you focus on halftime scores?

We did what we were supposed to do. Period.

True. But I prefer first quarter score comparisons. That will tell you where we are.

Because these games were over at halftime. Who cares how much you pile on late?

You want the 1st Quarter scores?

FAMU
Miami, 14-0. Miami's first 4 drives = 3 TD's & Missed FG.
Coastal Carolina, 22-0. CC's first 4 Drives = 4 TD's.

FAU
Miami - 0-0. Miami's first 4 drives = Missed FG, INT, 2 Punts
Kansas St. - 21-0. Kansas St. first 4 Drives = 4 TD's.

FAMU had 197 total yds vs. Miami. They had 169 total yds vs. Tuskegee.

All the OP said was "Temper Your Excitement" (there's plenty of reasons to do that), not "We Suck". App St. was a great win, and I can see the excitement from the FAMU & FAU wins. But just know that EVERYONE is going to look great against FAMU & FAU. Nothing wrong with getting excited over these games, and nothing wrong with saying we really haven't proven anything yet.

Still salty about your beat down at the hands of Louisville closet Nole?

The OP is that white dude on every basketball team that has one responsibility- hold everyone else on the bench back from stepping on the floor after a big dunk or a block. The "get back" dude that contains the celebration with both arms extended fully to maintain order.

This!

Not saying we shouldn't get to excited just yet, but we actually looked like a brand new team. I feel like this is a 10 plus win team.

OP is a Kaaya hater, and maybe a nole (per Lu's quoted post). So, while it may be true that we have played nobody yet, we all see how different this team looks.

He's just waiting in the weeds to blast Kaaya for any mistakes he might make.

Take his porst and flush it, and then take a couple shots of crown because we have hope...for the first time in forever.

I'm not sure why you are -19 for this. I feel exactly the same way. In the next month we will know what kind of team this is. I like the way Richt and Diaz handle their units but until we play a real team, this all doesn't mean much.

FAMU and FAU are hot garbage. App State was a little different. Only 4.5 point favorites, on the road, biggest game in their history, and we gave them an 80s style Canes beat down. If we beat them like Tennessee did, I'd be right with op. But it was domination that we haven't seen in a long time.

A lot of people in the business thought ASU could hang with us and some thought they could pull off the upset. The team handled them in resounding fashion. We looked good in every aspect of the game by and large, so why would we temper out enthusiasm?

Solid game and one we can build upon. We did what we should do.

Sometimes you just have to trust your eyes, and these slanted eyes of mine tell me Miami is a very good football team that will shake things up this season...

Yesterday was the antithesis of the Cincinnati game. I am not predicting 12-0; but, at least I am not looking through the remaining schedule already marking off which games are sure losses like last year.
