Temper Your Excitement

I'm excited because we did what we were supposed to do through three games and didn't underachieve or looked like we were playing patty cakes on defense. At the very least, we are aggressive and with more experience and more talent coming in, we will only get better.

Miami has looked like they're supposed to look against this kind of opponent, for the first time in years. That's all I take from it. The good news is they still haven't opened up much of the playbook, on either side of the ball. That game yesterday, with the old staff, would have been much closer. Everyone knows there's depth issues, and talent issues on the OL, but at least they're heading in the right direction. My biggest concern this game was getting Kaaya on track, and the more experience he has with the offense, the better he should look.

I'm agreement that we should celebrate these wins. A win is a win, and we've won convincingly, in a way the a good Miami team should. It's been a while since we've consistently done that.

Looking deeper - OP has a good point.

Halftime score of Miami-FAMU - 28-3. Next week, Halftime score of Coastal Carolina-FAMU - 36-7. FAMU lost their homecoming game to D2 Tuskegee yesterday 20-17.

Halftime score of Miami-FAU - 14-3. Next week, Halftime score of Kansas St.-FAU - 42-0.

Tennessee struggles with Ohio yesterday, and were getting handled by VT until VT fumbled inside their 10 twice. Hard to gauge how good App st. really is.

The teams we've beat have looked really, really bad. If we handle GT like we should I'll be on board, but I'd like to see it against a real team before getting too excited. I've been burned by thinking "we're back!" too many times the last 10 years to know better.

Lol @op bruh, did you even watch the last 5 years? Open your eyes and see what's coming, the excitement isn't just about beating inferior teams, it's about how they're doing it and what we can expect in the future. We went from our fans piling out in the third quarter to the other teams fans piling out in the third quarter in less than a year.

It's obvious we are better prepared, play harder, and better coached. We are better but this team isn't there on depth or talent wise to be a top 5 team in several positions- mostly OL.

Yes, a bit concerned that after the 80 yd run by Walton, we could only manage 84 yds on 30 carries. Will need to do better to beat ACC opponents

Why the F would you focus on halftime scores?

We did what we were supposed to do. Period.

The reality is we have played no one at all. FAU got pounded yesterday, App St lost their main weapon in the beginning of the game, and no comment needed on FAMU. I'm sure the play book will get more challenging for our competition soon and Richt can can show us his play calling skills when he was OC under Bobby. Very pleased with the outcome and effort in Boone. No reason we can't beat everyone on our schedule if we stay healthy, the defense stays aggressive, and Kaaya plays like a 1st round pick. Go Canes and God Bless America!

Stick to telling us about how the FSU frenchy is best QB in history

I'm not sure why you are -19 for this. I feel exactly the same way. In the next month we will know what kind of team this is. I like the way Richt and Diaz handle their units but until we play a real team, this all doesn't mean much.

True. But I prefer first quarter score comparisons. That will tell you where we are.

Thanks, captain obvious. Yes, our opponents have sucked but for the first time in 10-12 years, we are finally playing to the level of our talent. We are playing like a well coached team. We are playing like a 10+ win team. Doesn't matter who it's against.

If we were being touted as a playoff team, you *might* have a point. What most of us are saying is that we are playing better, are better coached, and are beating weaker teams like we should.

Washington is ranked #8 . They have played,Rutgers, Idaho and Portland St. People have their selective reasoning when it suits their narrative.

my buddy messenged me during the game. be glad with how u are beating app state. golden would be losing to this team. they would be running all over him even with their backup they would have had 180 yards by halftime lol

The OP is that white dude on every basketball team that has one responsibility- hold everyone else on the bench back from stepping on the floor after a big dunk or a block. The "get back" dude that contains the celebration with both arms extended fully to maintain order.

Legit lol'ed at this.

I'm not worried about 30 carries for 84 yards when a lot of that came in the 4th quarter as we are trying to run the clock and they are stacking the box.

OP is correct. Take a look around the board and you will see you guys throwing darts at teams who have actually played teams with a pulse, but then rant and rave about Miami who has played sht.
