Telfort - Out

Florida will be awful this year, only team they're clearly better than is Vandy

So Comma7201, just to clarify your statement you feel the University Florida football team will crap their collective pants this season?

Will be hard to get OL for the 2016 class with class we just signed. We signed 11 OL in the last 2 classes. Hopefully we sign either 1-2 STUDS this class that is good enough to play right away and is not afraid of the competition OR a high ceiling type guy who needs a couple of years to develop and does not mind waiting at least 2 more years to shine. 2017 OL recruits however, should LOVE our depth chart.

Look at what we are projected to have in 2017:
52 KC McDermott 6'6" 315 SR
73 Trevor Darling 6'5" 318 SR
68 Nick Linder 6'3" 300 SR
66 Sunny Odogwu 6'8" 322 RS SR
77 Jahair Jones 6'4" 327 SR
54 Hunter Knighton 6'6" 300 RS SR

79 Bar Milo 6'6" 285 JR
78 Tyree St. Louis 6'5" 315 JR
55 Joe Brown 6'4" 331 RS JR
69 Tyler Grimsley 6'3" 300 RS JR

74 Tyler Gauthier 6'5" 310 RS SO
62 Hayden Mahoney 6'5" 290 RS SO
75 Brendan Loftus 6'6" 300 RS SO

63 Danny Isidora 6'4" 322 Graduated
67 Alex Gall 6'5" 310 Graduated
64 Hunter Wells 6'6" 316 Graduated

Only 3 guys will graduate in 2015 and 2016. But after 2017 we will lose 6 OL and arguably 3 of our top guys in KC, Darling and Linder. A 2017 OL will get the luxury of redshirting their first year to get stronger and learn the system. In 2018 they will get to compete for serious playing time as a RS FR and potentially be a 4 year starter. There will be only 7-8 guys ahead of them assuming we don't lose anyone over the next 3 years. Did I mention that outside of Milo and St. Louis everyone else was rated 3 star or lower as recruits by all services. Most of the time these are the type of guys who end up as role players or career backups like Wheeler, Wells and Gall.

Didn't they have a first round OL placed in the draft also?

The Gators ranked in the bottom-20 nationally in total offense in three of the past four years, yet six offensive players were picked including four offensive linemen — the school’s most offensive line picks since 1966.

-D.J. Humphries was UF’s first OL to find a home, as the Arizona Cardinals selected the junior LT No. 24 overall in the 1st round.
-Dallas Cowboys drafted offensive tackle Chaz Green with the 91st overall pick
-Versatile C/G Max Garcia went off the board at the end of the 5th round, going No.133 to the Denver Broncos.
-In the 7th round, mammoth offensive guard Trenton Brown (6-8, 360) went to the San Francisco 49ers.

Florida will have all kinds of problems on the OL next year...

Article:
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Goodbye Chaz Green and to your 30 career starts.

Goodbye Max Garcia and to your two seasons of excellent service.

Goodbye Tyler Moore and to your 325 pounds of versatility.

Goodbye D.J. Humphries and to your first-round potential.

Goodbye Trenton Brown and to your 6-foot-8 mountain.

The five Florida offensive linemen above combined for 47 starts in 2014 -- or 78.3 percent made by the guys folksy college football announcer Keith Jackson would affectionately refer to as “big uglies.”

The Gators exited spring practice with just six healthy offensive linemen after Rod Johnson’s injury.

Until we bring in a professional staff we will continue to get plucked by other schools. No two ways about it, Golden lacking in to many aspects to ever be successful at Miami. Behind Schiano, that's why I like Winston Moss, because not only is he as "***qualified****" as any other prospective HC, but the African American impact would be huge especially in Dade.

Recruiting has gotten comical.

This week " Id like to announce I'll be a Miami Hurricane, it's all about the U"

Two months later " I'd like to announce that I'll be opening my recruitment back up and decommitting from Miami"

Good thing I won't be caring till numb nuts is fired.

All of you better hope for a terrible season. It's the only way Golden will get fired!

Face it. Jimbo owns us, we all know. Now you have a HC at UF who's been his job for just a few months and he will also own us as long as Golden is around!

New coach hype, once they start losing watch how that hype disappears, WINNING cures all

Who's gonna throw the ball around when you don't even have enough OL to complete a spring game. Lol the SEC is gonna be liking their chops.. Mizzou and Georgia should easily kick the **** out of Uif

Whether you want him or not in the 2017 class, family will win out in this situation. I highly doubt Telfort will want to be four hours away from his parents and family. Come signing day, Telfort will be staying home.
