Miami Northwestern High School football head coach Teddy Bridgewater has been suspended by the high school for allegedly giving impermissible benefits to his players.
Reports state that Bridgewater assisted with Uber rides and paid out of pocket for physical therapy for some kids after asking for help from the community.
Bridgewater confirmed in a Facebook post that he has been suspended by the high school after admitting to paying for players' Uber rides
Here is what he had to say on the post:
"The suspension came from MNW, and it’s impossible to suspend someone who doesn’t work for you. So if [I'm] suspended from MNW [I'm] free to go to another school of my choice, but [I'm] NOT GOING ANYWHERE," said Bridgewater. "And if it comes down to it, I will volunteer from the bleachers like I used to in 2018 and 2019 when no one had a problem."
Bridgewater is the head coach of five-star wide receiver Calvin Russell, who was the focus of Canes fans earlier this month. Russell chose Syracuse over a handful of blue blood schools, including Miami, as his college destination.
