Te'Cory Couch

There's a role for Couch as a 4th or 5th corner on this year's team but we need to pump the breaks a little bit. Being able to cover in man to man is only a portion of what Diaz asks corner backs to do. You have to be physical in bump and run, you have to take on your blocker and stick your nose in during run support. You better be willing to tackle the 240 pound tight end that's heading your direction. He's just too small to do that stuff consistently right now. Right now he can help in the slot in dime or even spell in nickle. His fluidity and quickness are a plus and he won't have to get up and jam the bigger receivers you see on the outside.

Respectfully, I don't know how you compare the two at all. Dean was a physical specimen but raw. He would have been a stud THIS year if we had more time with him. Couch is already a much better corner than Dean was when he got to Miami. Lower ceiling because of his physical traits, but higher floor. Malik Young, Jaquan Johnson, Trajan Bandy ... those are the type of kids you need to compare Couch to.
