TeCory Couch Preseason All-ACC

I think every DB and every Safety will be more technically sound, more disciplined and they will all tackle better with the addition of TRob and DVD to the staff.

I think DJ Ivey will be All Conference this year thanks to being more technically sound and cleaning up his tackling. The size and the talent is there. Getting his head turned around is a game changer for him.
If Ivey is All-Conference this year, I'll be more than happy. In terms of talent, he has it to be regarded as an all conference type of player. The thing is he's so inconsistent and his lack of ball skills kill him at times. I hope you're right though.

I understand how you feel and I agree with you. I just really believe TRob and DVD are difference makers and they get him to finally turn the corner.

He's flown under the radar for me this off-season but he was our best man corner last year. Him and Tyrique in the same backfield is a scary sight. If he can cut down on the flags and be more solid in terms of tackling and run support, he'll be more than deserving of 1st team.

half his flags were BS

Some games Ivey was lock down, Clemson for example and some games he wasn’t. I think if he can get the more consistent then he’ll be ok. He can be all conference If he’s more consistent. It’s his mental Errors that mess him up or lack of confidence.
Last season, Ivey allowed 23 receptions for 389 yards and two touchdowns.
In seven games, Ivey did not allow more than 20 receiving yards

Amongst the 85 Power Five cornerbacks that played at least 250 coverage snaps in 2020, Ivey ranked No. 22 in coverage snaps per reception, allowing one reception for every 14.7 coverage snaps

I think you keep TeCory on the inside where he's more suited to play. Let Blades and Ivey battle for that outside spot. T-Rob is a bump and run specialist, better to have big long bodies like Blades and Ivey on the outside to handle those duties. Hopefully, Ivey turns his head this year and thus turns the corner with his play. Lol
Look, I said last year that T. Couch was our best cover on the Defense. Glad to see his hard work is being recognized.

This kind of data is "gobbledygook". What truly matters is was he a lock down corner for his team. We all know the answer, so stop it with the esoteric data.

Facts are facts !! The games he was really and some games he was really bad. His bad plays just standout more.

Couch to me is more of a zone CB, that's what He excelled at in HS and looks more comfortable playing in College. But then again, I said a lot of the same things about Michael Jackson, and He turned out to be a pretty good man CB. We'll see.

I prefer Couch on the outside as well. Blades can play nickel and Ivey can play the bench.
I initially agreed but Couch showed great instincts last yr blitzing from the slot…either way keep that kid on the field every snap

Couch overtook Blades last year. Are we chalking that up to Covid?

Did he play in a lock down corner scheme last year? Nope he played 5-8 yards off Los played zone and man with no bump n run. If they play bump n run man more he can use that big long body and hopefully be much improved.
