Team Turning On Golden?

I understand why those would root against Miami, it will spur the changes that need to be made, and happen sooner. However, even though Shannon was fired after we lost to USF, which was deserved, I'm still ****ed we lost that game.

And you should be ****ed...but at least there's a **** of a silver lining. The quicker we move in a different direction the quicker we get past all of the next set of issues that will inherently come when you change coaching staffs.

That's what some on this site don't understand or grasp. It's GOING to happen...why on earth delay it or wish for it to possibly get delayed?

I'm all for making the change right now. We have two 'easy' games coming up, plenty of time to transition.

What should be done eventually, must be done immediately.

Don't blame the players but hope they decide to play for each other and not just go in the tank.

Just like every season I am pumped and optimistic, and this season was destroyed for me in a matter of hours.

Lulz at Al. Does he really think he can employ the same old scared $hitle$$ coaching tactics and prevail? Comeuppance is near.

My worry with a new staff, will all these jrs do the same thing the last set of jrs did? Bolt early for the NFL..... A staff would be looking pretty good if all of ours Jrs come back, but if TH3, Duke, Flowers, Bush, Malc, Herb... Not that they should/would... but they might just rather take their chances as UFAs then stick around for a "rebuild". However, if those players stay a new staff will undoubtedly have a lot to work with...

Bush, Malcolm, Herb? Wut have they done to bolt early? 0 chance.

The only ones that would bolt early are Duke (because he's a RB and his draft stock is as high as it's going to get), Flowers (because he'll likely get in the first 2 rounds), and maybe Tracy Howard. But Howard's screwed given this **** show defensive scheme. He's talented and will likely go in the 3rd or 4th round. But I'm on the fence on which way he's leaning. I think he would bolt because he's tired of the staff.

I'm not mad at the players, it's hard to go out there and be in one accord when you don't trust your decision makers. They directly know what talent they have on the team, what sort of talent they play against, and to be handicapped by bad coaching is the most frustrating thing. You are being coached not to exploit your advantages, and being told it's for the best but the results are marginal(down right embarrassing) at best. If they were winning it would be one thing; personal preference of the scheme would be thrown out, but that's not the case. Everything at this point can be questioned, this staff is always the worst prepared. I have never seen Golden actually out coach anyone.

Well where are the leaders on the team? Which players are goin to step up and rally the players together to play for themselves?

This is something that has been lacking forever with this team. This team is littered with state champions and highly respected players from South Florida. Some players on this team need to look eachother in the eyes, say F the coaches, administration and even the fans and play hard for themselves.

This is going to be a long long long season if the players not only give up on the coaches but also give up on eachother

Problem is the effort is there. This isnt late Shannon era where we'd lose because we weren't trying. I'd say these guys buy in every year then they lose it when they don't have success. You can rah rah all you want but the "leaders" arent charged with creating the tools for success. The coaches are. Player leadership doesnt matter without the tools.

This to me is the sine qua non.

When you are putting forth your best effort, your most diligently researched and prepared gameplan over an entire offseason only to find the same mistakes, lack of execution and declining results over 60 minutes.

That is the quintessential sign of the Peter Principle.

It is infinitely demoralizing and once players start to check out, save a herculean effort, there is no clawing your way back. Only a quickly eroding slide into regression and indifference by the team and its entire support network.

It is hard to do that when they do not believe in the system or coaches. I mean what do you say? "Let's get it together folks and lose?" Cause under these coaches and ****ty play calls and systems they have lost, despite playing their asses off.

As far as the quarterback issue: Kaka had no business...none...starting on Monday. I don't care if he seems like the better physically gifted option, no freshman will succeed his first game in a hostile place against a decent better coached team when our coaches hamstring the play call. I mean, what an absurd way to start the season. Put a veteran in like Heaps, run the full offense, and if you then stumble...well, then you can start grooming Kaka with the two cupcake games.

''I don't care if he seems like the better physically gifted option, no freshman will succeed his first game in a hostile place against a decent better coached team when our coaches hamstring the play call''

Try telling that too 80% of the moron posters here. I said it in a few threads before the game, they still wanted Kaaya. Rarely does a young QB do a great job on the road in a big game, a freshmen almost always lays an egg. When I'm betting games that's one of the first things I look for. I'll have to say Miami has some of the dumbest fans in the country. They think flying a flag after the first game is a good thing, WTF? Halfway through the season if they don't play well and Golden has lost the team is another story.
Fly the ****ing flag. When Golden see that ****....He knows. Him and No D live in a echo chamber patting each other on the back from crap. Makes no difference. If the team is incompetent. It just is. We don't need to wait till mid season. After getting blasted by UL, we waited 9 months to get blasted again after they lost tons of players and their staff. If that is not proof, what else is?

You think Golden doesn't know how the fans feel? lol The guy probably doesn't go out of the house anymore. Gotta make Shalala and company look like ****, they are the the ones to go after. Golden is just another peon they hired, go to the top.

Last month I was so hyped for the U. We had one great commit after another for weeks. Now I'm hearing on the Big O show that DURING THE GAME Coley, our OC, was asking OUR PLAYERS what to call to beat L'ville's 2 deep!!!????!!!!

ARE YOU F'N KIDDING ME?????

Note to players:

Whatever defense is called - ignore it and do what you know needs to be done.

Whatever offensive play is called - ignore it and do what you know you can do.

Neither of those players have shown anything to say they are NFL prospects at the moment... they have been hype...

The problem with that is, every starter will be sitting.

Didn't stop the other group from jumping early and before they were ready. Let's hope this group is smarter no matter who the coach happens to be.

Be honest with ourselves --- we hear more about certain players on that list being hurt or unhappy than we do about them being dominant college football players.

I think Golden lost the team already. He basically lied to them all off season and they know everything they were taught is bull****. He's a fraud and a liar.

First, he kept talking about how Miami was going to go back to attacking. Then we come out with a gameplan that basically calls for Miami to luck their way into a win. No attacking at all.

Second, he said the "Kaaya is the UM QB, not a freshman, and we won't keep the playbook dumbed down." Then they set Kaaya and the entire offense up to fail.

Last, the guy has been harping on the process for four years. So you've got kids who have worked under that process wanting to see some results for four years. The result they got in the year they're REALLY supposed to see results is that they aren't good enough to beat an average Louisville team without its top WR and top RB, starting a new QB, and installing two new systems.

How could any of these players believe anything this guy is saying and believe anything they're taught? The team has quit and it's going to be blowout after blowout for the rest of the year. I've seen this movie before and I know how it ends.

Pete was saying Kaaya was better last fall. No disrespect to DMoney, but that is an opinion from 2 guys. They ain't coaches and one dude has gone beyond the stalker line. To think he would say any other QB was looking good. Would just be an insane thought.

Well, the coaches are coaches, and they felt Kaaya was clearly better. Starting Kaaya was a very ballsy decision that they wouldn't have made unless they felt strongly that he was the better quarterback.

Franchise's post in this thread summed up the situation to perfection. The players are ****ed that the quarterback who started had a JV playbook. It was a mistake and Golden has basically admitted it.

Its sad that my only glimmer of hope hangs on golden admitting a mistake.

Ive ve got about three more top of mind he should admit to (and fix).

I hope we lose to FAMU

I can't actively root against us, but if it meant Golden an co would be gone I might have to

Scuba I'm not trying to be a jerk but I've simply NEVER understood this mentality.

If you LOVE the program the way all of us do. If you CARE for the program the way all of us do. If you want WHAT'S BEST for the program the way all of us do.

How can you NOT root for whatever needs to happen, to happen and happen quickly...so we can STOP having wait for something happen.

I remember all the fights on Grassy when people like me were openly rooting for USF during Randy's last year......things are not going to "magically" happen. Golden isn't just going to get fired. We are dealing with one of the worst administrations in all of college football, their hand needs to be forced otherwise they are content to mire in mediocrity and give this loser another year.

Go Arkansas State. I'll say it loud and proud while donning my UM gear. It's what's best for the program going forward. The on-the-field damage is already done.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... This administration couldn't care less what happens on the football field. The one thing that will get their attention is when they see an impact to cash flow. Until then, Golden can lose every game and they won't care.
