Team Turning On Golden?

The season is going to spiral out of control after we get worked by Nebraska. After 4 years of bs, it's not going to take much for these kids to quit. We're already hearing rumblings about it after game 1. Game 1! We'll still win some games because this team is quite talented. We'll lose to whoever is above average though, because that's what Al does.

We wont lose to FAMU, but Arkansas State is a completely different animal. I believe the Indians, er Red Wolves can win given our strategery.

And while DMoney is here, what are you hearing on Howard and Duke with regards to the staff? Heard there's some real friction brewing.

Howard and Duke are smart, aware guys who are 100% football. When something isn't right, they know.

Golden is at risk of losing the team, and some of the damage is already done. That is what will get him fired, not any banner. He needs to beat both Nebraska and Duke to keep any measure of respect in the locker room, IMO.

Confirmed somewhat by DMoney yesterday, and now this morning, WQAM's Joe Rose reports Golden has serious problems in the locker room largely because of two factors: coaching strategy and the selection of the QB.


It sounds as if this whole season could unravel at any moment. One more bad loss and Golden might lose the team.

Good, if he is not going to take responsibility let the players do it!!! They messed up, those kids were doing their part. The game was on the coaches, 100%.

The qb thing is stupid. Both d and Pete said kaaya was the better qb all of camp so he deserved to win the job. The coaching stuff is something I can see happening tho.

Pete was saying Kaaya was better last fall. No disrespect to DMoney, but that is an opinion from 2 guys. They ain't coaches and one dude has gone beyond the stalker line. To think he would say any other QB was looking good. Would just be an insane thought.

That's not accurate. I think our AD made a mistake with our home uniforms.

The players had one foot off the Golden train coming into the season. Seems many are going Dauntless and just jumping off earlier than most expected. **** Howard has been second guessing these dudes since his frosh season.

They are a completely different animal now if UM is not careful could pull the upset. Ark St offense can ring up points in a hurry, well at least the last few years. Watch them play Tennessee this Saturday and that will tell you how they will do against Miami.

We don't play in the SEC West, we play in the ACC Coastal. Outside of FSU, we don't play any top tier teams. If you combine the talent on the roster with a quality coaching staff, winning the ACC Coastal and making it to the Championship game is more than do-able immediately.

The harsh reality is that we have one of the worst coaching staffs in College football and its killing us.

If they do us that favor and do the deed on our home turf...he'd have to resign by the following Monday. It's the best case scenario to get this thing going in the right direction.....eventually.

Exactly. This is NOT a rebuild. The one thing Golden has done pretty well is recruit. A competent staff can come in and win right now. Immediately.

I cant root against us either. The reality is that we will win the next two games, but then we will probably get crushed by Nebraska. I will be curious to see how things play out after that game. The wheels could really fall off. This team is going to be lucky to go .500.

not surprised. golden plays too much politics. that whole practice jersey color thing alone is exhausting just from a fan's perspective. can't imagine how annoyed the players are with that crap and the ever changing depth charts.

When guys like him feel the heat they don't magically turn on the "guns blazing". He will get even more conservative and crumble under the weight of another lost season. If he comes out on game day and ditches that dumb shirt and tie then I will know he is attempting to let it all out.

Well where are the leaders on the team? Which players are goin to step up and rally the players together to play for themselves?

This is something that has been lacking forever with this team. This team is littered with state champions and highly respected players from South Florida. Some players on this team need to look eachother in the eyes, say F the coaches, administration and even the fans and play hard for themselves.

This is going to be a long long long season if the players not only give up on the coaches but also give up on eachother

It is hard to do that when they do not believe in the system or coaches. I mean what do you say? "Let's get it together folks and lose?" Cause under these coaches and ****ty play calls and systems they have lost, despite playing their asses off.

As far as the quarterback issue: Kaka had no business...none...starting on Monday. I don't care if he seems like the better physically gifted option, no freshman will succeed his first game in a hostile place against a decent better coached team when our coaches hamstring the play call. I mean, what an absurd way to start the season. Put a veteran in like Heaps, run the full offense, and if you then stumble...well, then you can start grooming Kaka with the two cupcake games.

Try telling that too 80% of the moron posters here. I said it in a few threads before the game, they still wanted Kaaya. Rarely does a young QB do a great job on the road in a big game, a freshmen almost always lays an egg. When I'm betting games that's one of the first things I look for. I'll have to say Miami has some of the dumbest fans in the country. They think flying a flag after the first game is a good thing, WTF? Halfway through the season if they don't play well and Golden has lost the team is another story.

The guy has been such an adherent to his outdated philosophy that he's never bothered to learn anything else.

At the end of the day, this just sucks. We all eat and breathe Hurricane football and the season appears to be over before it began. To boot, we have to go through yet another coaching fire/hire.

The kids (Duke, Tracy, etc...) deserve better. Their talent far exceeds their production and that falls squarely on AG and staff.

this is what I've been saying all off season. the fact that nothing was done to change this staff meant the season was already over. these guys have been exposed 1,000 times. why would anyone think this year would be different?
