And while DMoney is here, what are you hearing on Howard and Duke with regards to the staff? Heard there's some real friction brewing.

Howard and Duke are smart, aware guys who are 100% football. When something isn't right, they know.

Golden is at risk of losing the team, and some of the damage is already done. That is what will get him fired, not any banner. He needs to beat both Nebraska and Duke to keep any measure of respect in the locker room, IMO.

Confirmed somewhat by DMoney yesterday, and now this morning, WQAM's Joe Rose reports Golden has serious problems in the locker room largely because of two factors: coaching strategy and the selection of the QB.

It sounds as if this whole season could unravel at any moment. One more bad loss and Golden might lose the team.

This was obvious from watching the players body language on tv. Maybe that played a part in OL lack of focus during the game. Golden just needs to directly address these issues with the team and win.

At the end of the day, this just sucks. We all eat and breathe Hurricane football and the season appears to be over before it began. To boot, we have to go through yet another coaching fire/hire.

The kids (Duke, Tracy, etc...) deserve better. Their talent far exceeds their production and that falls squarely on AG and staff.

That's the most frustrating part about this whole ****! The whole process of hiring another guy will just slow this crap down even more. New system, new terminology.....all that does is set us back even more. You can clearly see that he lost Tracy Howard!

The qb thing is stupid. Both d and Pete said kaaya was the better qb all of camp so he deserved to win the job. The coaching stuff is something I can see happening tho.

Well where are the leaders on the team? Which players are goin to step up and rally the players together to play for themselves?

This is something that has been lacking forever with this team. This team is littered with state champions and highly respected players from South Florida. Some players on this team need to look eachother in the eyes, say F the coaches, administration and even the fans and play hard for themselves.

This is going to be a long long long season if the players not only give up on the coaches but also give up on eachother

The players aren't ****ed because Kaaya was picked. They're ****ed because Golden pumped Kaaya up and made it seem like we were going to run an actual offense with him. Then he went out and took the air out of the ball. If you were Coley, Waters, Dorsett, et al, and you know you could have killed UL defense and were open all night you'd be mad too.

They feel betrayed and hoodwinked by a shyster. Al gave away a game against a mediocre team by being too scared to run an actual offense, and the players are sick of being blown out and humiliated on national tv every time they play a team with a pulse because our HC is too scared to turn them loose.

Herb Waters was on the sideline ****ed too. you can see him jumping up and down. holding his hands behind his back in frustration.

TH3 is a leader, who is also one **** of a player. And there is not much anyone is going to say to a junior, who keeps getting subbed. I am sure that is most of TH3's beef. The revolving door at almost every position.... When you have a stud he should ******* play.... Duke, is smart enough to see a **** line and play call when he sees one. He was obviously frustrated. The best teams have players like that. They give guys **** for ******* up, the players hold them accountable... However, when those players lose faith in the coaches it becomes a MAJOR problem. Every major college administration should have a guy who keeps a pulse on things like this and keep the HC in the loop so he can address those issues. Hopefully AL has someone letting him know the players concerns.... TBH I wonder where DP stands on the issues...... Be willing to bet its more with TH3 and Duke......

COmpletely agree, as a player you would rather let it all hang out and lose then play the bull**** conservative game..... These kids grew up playing 7v7 and airing it out. Thats what they want to do... and they KNOW it will work... So why not do something that will work?

It is hard to do that when they do not believe in the system or coaches. I mean what do you say? "Let's get it together folks and lose?" Cause under these coaches and ****** play calls and systems they have lost, despite playing their asses off.

As far as the quarterback issue: Kaka had no business...none...starting on Monday. I don't care if he seems like the better physically gifted option, no freshman will succeed his first game in a hostile place against a decent better coached team when our coaches hamstring the play call. I mean, what an absurd way to start the season. Put a veteran in like Heaps, run the full offense, and if you then stumble...well, then you can start grooming Kaka with the two cupcake games.

Great post, this is depressing

The program has been neutered. Kirk Herbstreit hit it on the head on the joe rose show. Miami is playing like choir boys & lost the passion & intimidation factor. I believe golden has lost the team & they will finish 5-7.

Because I'm over the coach thing already (i.e. it is what it is, hopefully it works itself out sooner than later), this is where I'm at now. I'm wondering what the players are going to do. If they are fed up with the coaches, or scheme, or whatever, I still expect fire and competitiveness. At the end of the day, it's the players on the field. They are football players. They are in competition. To be clear, I feel their pain. I hate it for them that the coaches aren't holding up their end of the bargain, it's horse****. But still...you're a man out there and the other team is trying to defeat you. Can't let that happen, as far as you can help it.

It may not be that stupid. There are a lot of talented guys playing in their last year who want to win now -- Duke, DP, and Chick come to mind. They want and need to win now. They don't want the staff to consider this a rebuilding year -- which is how breaking in a true freshman QB is interpreted. Case in point: they dumbed down the playbook and implemented an absurdly conservative game plan apparently because the coaches were more concerned about not shaking Kaaya's confidence than winning the game. I'd be ****ed too if I were an upperclassmen who needs to win now to help next year's draft stock. Golden is straight up costing them money and they deserve better.

I know, I know, many were of the opinion that Kaaya was simply better than Heaps-- but the proof is in the pudding: the coaches didn't trust him enough to do what was needed to win that game, plain and simple.

Kaaya needs to start verses FAMU and gain more experience. Hopefully the game is a blowout so Heaps can get some meaningful reps in the 2nd half and actually run the offense without fear of hurting the FAMU coaches feelings.

Plain and simple, these guys are not put in a position to win by these coaches. The schemes we run are shockingly ridiculous, opposing coaches must pop popcorn and just laugh while they watch film of our games.
