X's and O's teach tape oline

yeah, more of the same. The troubling part is the amount of pressures generated from the E-T stunt. I mean, we weren't even close on some of those. Wonder how much time it takes to correct these mistakes.

I would bet its corrected this week. Its not that hard. I just don't think Samson or Congdon had the playing experience and IQ to recognize the tight alignment.

They got a heavy enough dose of it that they now have experience seeing it and can be coached out of it.

I was talking to someone on Saturday during the game and said Samson and Congdon were playing them differently. Samson was sinking and letting the stunt come to him and Congdon was attacking it. Glad Brooks called that out as playing it at a different level. I didn't know that was the term for it.

Also not familiar with how you decide or communicate it at the line with what approach they're taking. But I think it will be fairly simple

I'm on the more experience is needed train and its painful because we've been privileged to have stout pass blocking the past 2-3 years.

Samson's first year starting at OT and Congdon + only their second game starting side-by-side so communication is still developing. I always thought Samson was a smart kid so the teach tape pickup shouldn't be that difficult imo. Mirabal is also a great communicator, so we have that going for us.

A silver lining from last game (we still won - most important part) is it provided plenty of teach tape for the OL and just have to hope it sticks and their pass blocking improves the rest of the season.

We will find out quickly. Narduzzi is one guy that will dial it up and expose it over and over again if you can't figure it out.

He loves to send a backer too and they get home A LOT when he does. Guy can coach the front 6
He's a prick but shocked no one has given him a shot at a bigger job. With talent like Texas or something they would be killing people.

We will probably figure out the E-T and T-E stunts and he will throw another wrench introducing a backer to the equation and we'll be back at square 1

Thoughts or insight on how OL communicate the level that they're playing the stunt? Like Samson and Congdon - Samson likes to be patient and let it come to him and Congdon is attacking it and they can't pass it off like that.

Is that just something you get a feel for on each play as it happens or do you communicate it as you see the alignment or do you just pick a way and do it that way every time?

Another thing, how many sacks have we given up in last few years because Mark chips a DE into being free e and get to QB, I remember he did that to Maugoia a couple times.. :snoopfacepalm:

He's a prick and a NE prick. His HC buddy got pushed out too... I think he likes the smart guys at Pitt and going 8-4

I saw them all go from a 2 step drop to 'attacking' in pass pro in order to stop them from the late twist. It worked until SJ knocked the dude of McCoy and Fletcher did the same to Samson.

It looks like a bunch of band-aids placed over the hole in the Titanic

As much as we say Mensah was "off" this game (as with the second half of Wake), he was covering up a lot of blemishes by getting the ball out quickly and maneuvering in the pocket.
