Not a concern but I would love to hear the opinions and know of someone as far as how will Dawson use the TE going foward. No complaints but there was little to no production last night. I saw Bauman in a lot but it was mostly for blocking.

I’m definitely concerned about that unit. We lost a ton and Arroyo was an elite CFB TE. We also lost major run blocking between him and McCormick. Lofton has to show me something but that Tulane TE is a TERRIBLE run blocker from what I saw.

Dawson didnt use Aroyo last year, dont expect anything different this year, which sucks if Loftin is as good as advertised

I knew we were cooked at TE when @DMoney spent all offseason hyping up lofton as best player then gameday comes and says its a bad matchup against ND?! HOWWW.. If you supposed to be superstar stud all offseason, nobody supposed to shut you down.

They were used to block yesterday which was necessary.

Lofton got a catch.

Im sure they'll incorporate them a little more as the season progresses, but we dont have a true Arroyo replacement so it'll probably look a little different.

I don't think Dawson's scheme gets a lot of TE designed plays.

Wish we would set up some plays like what Lashlee did with Mallory. Lofton needs to get more touches.

Our TEs will have a different role in this offense. They won’t get a ton of catches as they are complimentary kind of players. They won’t stretch the field but will be good outlets for beck.

Lofton has been banged up and limited in camp. Now that ND is done that story can be told.

I think him and Trader will have bigger roles as the season goes on and they time up with Beck.

Got it. Makes sense, I think I saw Trader early on fade route that ND db looked like he held him but not much after, Im guessing he still not right and now gonna shoot for UF game return. Kid been fragile since he got here.

They did good, honestly. Bauman locked up #40 most of the game and helped out a lot in Pass Pro when called, Lofton did well, being understand as a pass pro blocker. They mostly put them on Bells side to help out.

Nothing flashy at all. I think this will be what you see going forward. Carson likes to check down (i.e., to the RBs) instead of Cam who extended plays.

Overall above average first game as a group. (remember 1st rounder TE and a 9 year veteran as a blocker left) so they won't be as good as that group, but they certainly played well.
