2027 TE Board (2027 Edition)

How can TE U not be cleaning up? I just don’t get it. Don’t tell me Dawson’s offense isn’t friendly to TEs. Arroyo did fine in it. A mismatch at TE would complete the picture.

Lumpris is all that. I would love to have him in this class.

I dont even think we offered him, usually they highlight those type of offers.. This should be one of our easier positions to recruit.. even when we were down bad we still did well and put nfl talent up..

Simple. We’re not using them.

Tbh just not a position worth spending a ton of money on
You dont need to spend a ton of money to sign quality TEs.. Shoot Uga who is n\\known to not spend continuously picks up top guys, this sounds like the new company line..

Also the game constantly zigz when defenses zag and one of the biggest trends in offensive football is having multiple TEs on field, this is a big change and the run on TEs in latest draft also shows that.. Last class seems like a positive step but we need to continue to build a championship level miami level TE room

We don’t have them. Elija Lofton is not a tight end. We didn’t have a single playable tight end on the roster last year.

I was beating the drum to throw a bag in the portal for a TE after Arroyo, and we came out of it with He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named.

Riley Williams honestly could have made himself some money last year in our scheme, but Woodiel’s TE recruiting was absolute horse****.

And when have we used them properly even when Elijah was here? Dawson just doesn’t use TEs well and guys don’t want to play where they’re just glorified blockers.

Because when we tried they dropped the ball. Lofton and our championship punt blocker were downright mediocre. The true freshman looked like he could become a passable blocker but is limited as a receiver.

Serious question - if we had a Njoku or Olsen, do you believe we wouldn’t use them as receivers? That Mensah wouldn’t want them as options?

What’s crazy is UGA may have the best TE in the country again in 2028. If not the best, at least top 5 …..Asa Wall is like that. Legacy UGA commit

Dawson doesnt scheme em or use them like we are used to.

Mario wants a bunch of em on the field but for the most part blocking purposes.

Thats the reason....we dont nee to continue the farce of having them on the field just to.....just bring in more wide receivers...n this is me pro style prop joe saying this.....im done with wasting reps on the mccormicks, Bauman, Riley williams running dummy routes when we can have legitimate speed on the field.

Appreciate you and your opinion. But we’re no longer Houston or the crappy Miami. 22 starters, every one of them should be disruptive forces on the field. Good TEs aren’t even expensive relative to other top playmakers. Makes zero sense not to use high quality TEs with QBs like Beck and Mensah.

if they have elijah Lofton on the field over Vaughn and Jacobs im going to blow a gasket.

Agree - we have a loaded WR room and a weak TE room. Adjusting your playbook to the makeup of your roster is a basic coaching principle.

If he's acting as an HBack or second RB, it's not so egregious. But I agree I want 4 or 5 wide a lot more often. One think we have to stop doing in bunch sets. Spread the field so our talent can abuse the mismatches.

The problem is we know who we are and the identity of this team/offense.. We spent half the season pounding our fist even if we were getting stuffed in dallas, no matter what Bauman was on the field.. This dude had to be the worst athlete we had on field in last decade and he still played because thats who we are, no matter results.. Championship on the line, even after his sabotage he was still on field final drive..

We probably ran more 2 TE snaps than 4 WRs and will do same upcoming. It is what it is..

I have faith Dawson and Mario are adaptable to the talent they have. That may be misplaced. But November reinvigorated my optimism (delusions?).
