Tavon Ross being recruited as a RB

this staff knows talent. lets be real, our best dlinemen is a kid no one heard of named olsen pierre. Who had any idea who Gunter or Figs were? Ross is explosive. I would love gray but its seems like he is impossible to qualify so i would be happy to take ross.

FCK yeah. Get him on the OV. Kid will fall in love with South Beach. He seems really intrigued by the RB idea. Could be a huge steal for the staff.

Ill say this. If many of these gems we have uncovered early like Kaaya, Jenkins, and others pan out, this will be the best talent evals we would have had since Butch and some of the best in the nation.

Lol

Yeah it's hilarious. Kaaya went from a kid whose best offer was SDSU, to an Elite 11 stud, state champ and offers from USC and UCLA, and we found him when no one had noticed the kid. Jenkins went from a big ball of baby fat to one of the most dominant DL in the NE, with OSU and PSU all over him once he blew up. And we found him when no one was calling.

We found NJoku and offered him when nobody but Temple and Rutgers cared. Now PSU and OSU are all over the kid and even Bama has been calling.

But keep laughing. The staff has been doing some pretty good evals on kids who have been flying under the radar.

Ok lol.

The local schools always knew about Kaaya and Njoku they just weren't top priorities. Btw Njoku has had a psu offer for about the same time as Miami.

The Kaaya evaluation + recruitment was an excellent job by Coley & Carroll

Not an insider AT ALL, but, I was at the heat game here in Atlanta the other day and a guy i started to talking to next to me was talking about Tavon Ross..and I was like, "Holy ****, I know that guy!" ha...he was amazed. anyway, it was someone pretty close to Ross. He made it seem like Ross wants to play defense in college, and also that he has more or less made up his decision to play at UGA- that his brother plays basketball for wichita st. and that Tavon wanted to be close to his family. I was like, oh man- tell him to come to miami and play RB!

idk... with all those one handed picks, blasting players, and pancaking OL, i want him on defense badly.

i just hope we get him, one of my favorite films ever

Kid just looks like a great athlete so just get him in and let him decide in practice what he's best at by his play I love this kid

Pierre has done very little... I'm not impressed with Gunter but he's decent... Figs hasn't done anything of significance but he can hit, hopefully the staff can develop him into a solid player... He's a freshman and there is potential... I don't think we can say they know talent as in they can pull anyone and they'll be a star... So far their evaluations are questionable with all the transfers... Hopefully, this is first year we won't have any players transfer or dismissed...

****, must be in a foul mood or a helluva grader to be so down on Pierre, Gunter and Figs. These are 3 guys the staff pulled out of thin air. Will any of them be first-round draft picks? Probably not. But a very good chance Pierre and Gunter will play in the league, as will Figs if he can stay healthy and develop.
The one thing confident about is this staff knows talent and will turn over every stone to find it.

No I'm actually feeling great and just stating my observation... Pierre has done very little since he's been here... I don't recall much from him this year... Gunter is still a bit suspect but he's decent... I thought he improved quite a bit from 2012... I like Figs but he hasn't done anything yet... Hard hitter but he's still young... Yea I doubt the staff has a nonchalant approach to recruiting... They are hard workers but for their experience they are questionable with some of their signings... Too many of their players are dismissed or they either transfer to other programs... That's a red flag...

Gunter suspect? I recall a couple deep balls caught on him that were perfectly placed , it was great coverage. He's a good cover guy that tackles well. I've been thrilled with that find.

Gunter has been excellent here and will probably be an all-conference performer next year. Gunter, Burns, and Tracy is an awesome trio at corner.

LULZ at Figs coming out of thin air. Pretty sure the guy was a 4 star at one point. Gunter is a good player, but I'm pretty sure he didn't come out of thin air either. He had a couple other decent offers.

Pierre was less evaluation and more desperation. Look at the other sorry *** DTs they pulled in Pierre's class. They had nothing else, so they had to take the guy they had committed to Temple--Pierre.

Gunter was a 2-3 star kid with offers from North Texas , Indiana and Miami. So that's pretty much out of thin air . I know the message boards blew up when he committed. Typical jokes about his awful offer list.

Baylor, Nebraska and Texas A&M were all recruiting him, so "thin air" is a stretch. He's a good player and was a good find. Just because a corching staff sucks doesn't mean they won't do a few things right along the way.

i dont know why so many praise gunter. He was beat the most out of any corner we had

Exactly that's what I'm saying... He's decent, that's all... The guy gets beat on double moves and deep routes... He isn't that good... Hopefully he improves and becomes an all-pro corner but if his performance next year is similar to this years then he won't get all-conference recognition... He always gets beat... Like I said Gunter and Pierre aren't that impressive... However, if they put in the work anything can happen... I mean we seen a lot of players make a name for themselves during their last years... D. Sharp, Hurns and maybe the most extreme is McGahee... But if they play like they played this year they won't be recognized at all... Yea Gunter got a few pics against bad teams but the guy struggles at times...

Teams rarely go deep because we give them a great cushion... The kid struggles in coverage... Remember against Wake Campanaro wasn't the one killing us, it was their other receiver doing damage before his injury on Gunter's side... The ki isn't a scrub but he's far from a player you want to beat your chest about...

He gets praise for the same reason a mediocre looking chick who hangs out with chicks who look like pterodactyls gets hit on.
