Bleckley County High School safety Tavon Ross, who got a late offer from UGA and took an official visit with the Bulldogs this past weekend, is still deciding whether to take a recruiting trip to Alabama or Miami on Friday.

Ross got a late offer from Alabama last week, and Crimson Tide defensive coordinator Kirby Smart was expected to attend Bleckley County’s basketball game on Tuesday night.

“It’s about the same,” Bleckley County coach Tracy White told the AJC. “The same four are in the mix. He doesn’t know yet where he will visit this weekend. It’s either Miami or Alabama. He doesn’t know yet. He’s talked to Miami and Alabama a lot over the phone the last two days. They are both trying to get him to come there this upcoming weekend. He doesn’t know where he’s going yet.”

Miami had an in-home visit with Ross on Monday night, and said some things that really caught his attention.

“Tavon is intrigued with Miami, the city and how they are recruiting him,” White said. “They are recruiting him as an offensive player, as a running back. So that’s a whole different spin on it.”

Ross played quarterback and defensive back for Bleckley County. Which position does he prefer in college?

“One day it’s safety, and the next day he might want to play running back — I think he just wants to play college football,” White said. “But he did say that he was intrigued by running back a little bit"

Then again Trayone Gray is 6'2" weighs 215 lbs , runs like a deer in headlights. Hope if Ross goes elsewhere, Gray gets a chance, along with Tucker who maybe the fastest man on the team...

Would love to see Gray and Ross battle it out at RB. Ross is my fakir ute guy left on the board. As for Tucker, go back and watch his tape at running back. Meh.

I'm of the opinion that the only reason that Ross is being recruited is due to the uncertainty of Gray getting in and even still, I'd love to see Gray at Receiver.

Well Ross decided to take a visit here this weekend instead of Bama.

Love this kid's film.

If it was Ross playing on Crabtree instead of that sorry *** corner Richard Sherman, he'd have picked the ball with one hand his own **** self.

And the Ross kid can jump out of the **** Gym! I've seen him live. He decided to play a little basketball this season. They just come down and throw the ball up, and he goes and gets it. Rim rattling alley-oops. Kid is pretty **** athletic!!! Better football player, however. Hope he decides on the orange and green.

Thing I like at running back is you won't have to train out of him that terrible tackling form. The less breaking down we would have to do, the better. Kid is a missile on both sides.

Yeah, just looks like an instinctive football player. He wouldn't be tip-toeing around like Gus does.

I like this. A LOT. We had another underrated DB come in here a few years back, move to RBI and became a BEAST. Berry was also a DB who switched to RB and ended up pretty **** good. This kid is a freak athlete. You just get him on the field. I'm happy to try him at RB first. If not we can always move him back to DB where the kid looks unreal. If we can steal this kid from UGANDA and Bama that will be a **** of a coup. Getting him to OV here over Bama was HUGE
