Every good team in the country has plenty of backups who are good enough to start at the D1 level. Martell already jumped once. He should stick it out. And I expect he will.

Also, I am very optimistic on JW, and liked the choice of him as QB1, but he hasn’t completed a single pass yet. Our backups should be preparing to play.

They would allow him to join, the problem is the NCAA rules, the quarter system means they can officially sit out a year even if they leave now

This is a new season.....We have a new coach, a new QB, players that are revved up and want to be here and we're opening up against one of our tough archrivals

We have much more important things to be worrying about than what someone who lost the QB competition wants to do, or how he's feeling. Go, stay, I don't care

I'm focused on beating the gators....forget all this other irrelevant nonsense.
 
FCS schools would be his best option. Eastern Washington, Montana, Montana State, etc. He came here an thought he would be the starter and got beat out. Transferring would be leaving UM with his tail between his legs. Transferring to another D1 school would put him in the same situation he's in at UM.
