I have seen a lot of speculation on this board regarding Tate Martell's future, in short there are a few options:
- Remain at Miami: High risk option given that he is a RS SO behind a RS FR, would likely
- Transfer: Given that most schools have already began their fall Semester, Tate would be unable to count this fall to his year out from a transfer, and he is unlikely to receive an additional waiver, thus he would only be eligible to play his RS SR year.
- Transfer to a Quarters System School: Various PAC-12 schools are on the quarter system and he can transfer there while being eligible to play in 2020 as a RS JR.
- Graduate, then Transfer: Tate had nearly completed his graduation requirements at OSU (there was significant speculation he would Grad Transfer to Miami). This would make him immediately eligible in 2020, while also allowing to him to potentially play this season in the case Jarren is injured or underperforms.
