Tate Martell

the bigger question is if any of the QBs are ready for UF. its coming up soon and that'll be the best D they'll play all year
Secondary yes and that’s if Marco is truly 100% after he shredded his ACL less then a year ago which the odds are against. But front 7 no there not the best, there front 7 was gutted by the draft and only have one returning starter back. Even though there a **** show up there I still think the best front 7 will face this year is FSU. JMO

Agree and Enos already said the offense will be tailored to the strengths of who ever wins it. So if it’s Tate I expect us to be in the shotgun majority of the time and rightfully so as Tate is devastating from the shotgun with his dual threat ability. Add In All the motion “thank the lord” we’re going to see for the first time and some actual creative play calling to the strength of the team/QB and this team can be Lethal. Defenses are never going to able to cue in on one guy specifically and kept off balance a lot. Gone are the days thank god of run up the middle right, run up the middle left, all verts and punt. Smh
If Tate wins I do think we're in the gun more but I don't think we abandon under center. Do I think he limits pass plays with 5 step drops? Of course. But Enos is super creative under center as well.

i do chuckle at everyone say9ing #TNM and thats this guy or that guy lol. its a nice hashtag built to get us excited to have us forget last years disaster. it works lol, but well find out after this year if it really is the TNM. i love manny so far, but im hesitant based on the canes recent history w any new coach we have
Nothing wrong with feeling the way you do. Not alone. But it sure as **** feels better with this coaching staff and the enthusiasm around it.

The funniest thing about this thread is almost everyone is saying Martell is ahead in the race right now.......but no one is talking about him turning the ball over at least twice in yesterday’s practice. Ball security is #1 period. Let’s just gloss over that y don’t we......

I'm rewatching the Tate parts of QB1. Dude is a football junkie, who played at the best HS football program in the country, kept another 4 star QB on the bench (Thompson-Robinson). Tries to do a bit too much at times, didnt tuck the ball on runs got him into trouble, but **** he can ball. Let the best QB win, I don't care who it is, but my money is on him.

Theses no denying Enos was giddy about Tate, and had to be asked about the other two before responding that they too are performing well coming out of the Summer offseason. But it’s just that, the offseason - if he’s this gushy over Tate in 2.5 weeks then we will all know the writing is on the wall. Until then yes, he was excited about Martell. But doesn’t mean the other 2 aren’t progressing as well.

Transfer QB Tate Martell looks like a different quarterback this fall after throwing numerous errant passes almost every practice in the spring.

He’s more on point, more consistent.

And he says there’s a reason for it.

“We had to all do quarterback analysis, went through and my biggest thing was shortening my stride and moving one of my fingers up, (others) down a little bit,” Martell said. “It’s helped me out a lot with being able to spin the ball out there.”

For those who thought i was lying about how horrible his passes were in the Spring, I dont think he can fully correct his throwing mechanics in a few months. This is the reason I am apprehensive of Tate but may the best man win

Best QB tonight. Will probably end up being the starter.

... and then he couldn't hit the broad side of the barn a day or so ago.

There's a reason coaches evaluate these kids in spring, gauge their summer workouts and then put them through all of fall ball before making a decision.

Pump the brakes. None of these guys is a clear-cut leader over the others. All three need to step up .... fast.
