Tate Martell

I remember coaches yelling GOCANES05 hold your block for 2 count not 11/2 before releasing to second level responsibilities why we’ll a different RB was in getting reps and his shuttle time was a little slower then starter but his top end was faster.

See timing is everything in O play all the way down to O-line loop a hair more on your pulling or cut it tight to shadow block the corner coming hard on a sweep.

TIMING UNISON PLAY CRITICAL.

We cannot sit on this 1st scrimmage NO longer, MOP it maybe done confidentiality done with coaches as others practice snaps start to fall off.

It’s really obvious during practice where the love is going to others,I knew it by the pickiness of the coaches plus the duration of keeping me in with the 1’s.

GOCANES

All I know is whoever ends up 3rd ( it won't be Tate) will transfer . IMO even if Williams ends up 2nd he does . So by deductive reasoning Tate will be the starter and Perry the back up . Which sucks as IMO Williams will be a pro QB ( not a starter but a back up) but he ain't the leader and play maker tate is .

and how do yo know this about Tate? Dude hasnt started a game in college mane, yet alone even played in a meaningful one

Lol you dont think schools promise immediate playing time or a starting spot?

You know how Diaz got Enos here? he promised him full control of the offense. This is one of the reasons he left Alabama. Enos did not recruit Tate Martell that is not his QB, neither ie Perry or Williams. Enos is not promising anything to anyone

It's obviously going to be Tate. Manny is selling a brand, a swag, #TNM, and Tate helps him build that national profile the most.

Unless the kid simply can't play, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Tate goes for 200+ passing and 100+ rushing in a win over Florida, and he's an early contender for September Heisman by Monday morning.

You do? They may talk about it, the way guys talk about whatever to pick up girls. But anyone who believes that isht is too dumb to play cfb.

It’s a business. Coaches have jobs. Their job is to win. To do that, they need a team that believes in each other and in their staff/Hc. If they start putting guys into roles based on promises not performance, it will fall apart fast.

I have no idea why anyone would think our starting QB will be anyone other than the guy Enos feels best about after a couple weeks of fall practice.

Put this sh_t about "wobble" to bed, already . . . and, If you don't think Tate can throw the long ball, go look at some film . . .

N'kosi and Jarren are good but I get the impression they're only #TNM because Tate showed up at the U . . . that's why you have to want to be the QB at Miami all the time . . . and that's the intangible that Tate's got going for him . . . and that's what Manny wants. Hey, if I'm wrong, I won't lose sleep over it knowing Enos has the best guy under center . . .

That brings up a really good point. Competition breeds efficiency. How much better have Perry and Williams become because of Martell's presence?

Keeping it a 100, UM doesn't have an elite QB on its roster. The max they could get out of any of these QBs is 10-2 at best, that's with everything breaking for UM. Enos will have to really manage these games with his playcalling.

Huh

Rosier was the worst we've had in awhile and look at how far that took us in 2017. No there's no Lawrence on the roster, but what we do have is at an entirely different level above Rosier. If defense keeps humming and OL holds up, our eventual starter could easily put us in a place to win almost every game. Clemson would require everything to break our way.

i do chuckle at everyone say9ing #TNM and thats this guy or that guy lol. its a nice hashtag built to get us excited to have us forget last years disaster. it works lol, but well find out after this year if it really is the TNM. i love manny so far, but im hesitant based on the canes recent history w any new coach we have

I have to say, Manny definitely understands and fits Miami and so does Tate. If it translates to succees is the question.

As long as Penos is capable of putting together an offense that highlights his ability as a runner, Tate brings another dimension to our offense that can be devastating to defenses.

I want the best guy to win, but if used correctly, Tate gives you MULTIPLE PROOOBLEMS as a defense.
Agree and Enos already said the offense will be tailored to the strengths of who ever wins it. So if it’s Tate I expect us to be in the shotgun majority of the time and rightfully so as Tate is devastating from the shotgun with his dual threat ability. Add In All the motion “thank the lord” we’re going to see for the first time and some actual creative play calling to the strength of the team/QB and this team can be Lethal. Defenses are never going to able to cue in on one guy specifically and kept off balance a lot. Gone are the days thank god of run up the middle right, run up the middle left, all verts and punt. Smh
