Tate’s landed

What makes people so confident about this waiver? The only case I can remember of kids getting a waiver are the ole miss kids transferring after the school got put on probation.

And ofc Tate’s lawyer is going to be confident. He’d be an idiot to say anything else

Dual enrollment is a possibility? Or did he have to completely withdraw from OSU in order to transfer?

The NCAA doesn't allow this type of dual enrollment. Once he registers for a class at Miami, he has "transferred" to Miami as per the NCAA. Since he would be transferring as an undergrad then he has to sit out a year or be granted a waiver.

Anyone have any insight into the timeline or the waiver process? Appeals process? Basically when are we going to know if he’s eligible for 2019?

I recall it took another player (qb from ole miss) about 3 months and I also read that people close to Justin Fields expected 6 weeks. So it may be 1-3 months before we know.

I've seen quite a few transfers and such increase the last few years.I wonder if the NCAA is easing up on transfer rules to get better players spread around and knock down the notion of paying players.

Can he play in the spring game and practice with the team while his eligibility is still in question?

Grimes got a waiver to be close to his sick mom who is 5 hours away from the school he transferred to.

They hand out those waivers pretty liberally, and I doubt they want deny a waiver to a kid who doesn’t want to be associated with a school that harbored a wife beater.

Honestly N'kosi is probably on the outside looking in making snapchat *** tapes or whatever. A QB battle between Martell and Williams will be interesting but I feel like Martell is more dynamic and win out.
