TAMU Game Week Discussion Thread 2.0

I’m as intrigued about this game as any in recent memory. I’m also clueless on how to feel lol. I will say things just feel different for the first time in awhile. From leadership on down. I guess we’ll see if my heart gets broken again or it’s really a new day.

This is the best description of how I actually feel going to the game today. In other words, I’m not sure what the outcome will be, obviously, but things just feel differently after last year’s abortion of a season. There seems to be more focus, the players seem to be more locked in, I just hope I’m right. And most importantly, of all, I actually am going to a game feeling confident about our offensive line.

last year showed we can run on them and they were better at LB last year. Since our OL is much improved I expect our OL to be able to get consistent push. I think Ajay and mark fletcher need to be heavily involved out of the backfield. We gotta be able to identify their blitzes too. They’re concerned they won’t be able to get home with 4 but they are gonna for sure try to at the beginning
Actually I think Fletcher and Chaney should be the hosses and then mix in Ajay and Parish. Start with the bruisers.

Same. I actually feel optimistic that we will get the win so we will see if come 6 PM Eastern standard time I’m drinking hard liquor, celebrating or crying

I want to see Miami with 200lbs rds rushing. I know everyone wants to see us sling it around but run it and make them quit come the 4th quarter.

I think 150 wins it this year , that’s the magic number. The Ol is upgraded so I think we’ll have better chances of big plays in the pass game this go round. Play actions. This would be a great game for Harrell to make his presence felt. Stay ahead of the chains and have positive plays on first downs. That’s opens everything up and gets them off balanced.
We had 175 last year. We need to do a better job of maximizing red zone trips. Kicking field goals instead of touchdowns will lose us this game.

That’s why I say 150 because we self imploded any time we got in the red zone. We also struggled passing because of lack of wr‘s. This year I believe the OL, Wr’s and scheme is much better so there’ll be more plays to be had in the pass game, especially if we run the ball as well as I hope / expect. Scheme alone should drastically improve the red zone.

Our 2pt conversion was a nice play or was that a TD to X last game can’t remember.

Yeah running TVD on QB sweeps and other play calls were horrendous all year last year.

Their Center is very legit. Freshman all American 2 years ago. Their LG is too and freshman all American last year. RG is good and has played a ton of ball.. started 20+ games and played in 30+.

I question their RT who is a true freshman. LT is probably the 2nd weakest link.
I don't care what accolades you put out. Film don't lie.

Doesn't scramble often but when he does, he picks up the 1st down. It's up to Francisco to keep him in check. Weigman may wanna tuck more caus he'll be confused post snap

"It did, and it was explosive, with five passing plays of 20 yards more from starter Conner Weigman. That's massive. Why? Over the past two seasons combined, A&M had 70 passes of 20 yards or more. In one night, Texas A&M had just over 7% of passing plays of 20 yards or more than they've had in the past few seasons. Regardless of the opponent, that shows things are clicking, and it can be put on full display this weekend.

There's not much to take from Miami's defensive performance against Miami (OH) last week. It did what it was supposed to against a non-Power Five team and won easily."
Wait so A&M doing good things against New Mexico means something but Miami against their less ****** opponent means little?

This is why the media is a joke and TrumpyCane is glad everyone is on A&M
That Texas A&M 7% of what they had over the past two years stat is stupid. Youd expect them to have 4-5% given the stats this guy gave. But not shockingly, they overpercormed against New Mexico State...
