Talk to me about crowd noise?

After about 18 years of this fake media chest pumping about the $EC, I should know better, but I'm only human. Hey it's hotter in Gainesville than it is in Miami lol. That was another lame brain take I heard from the gates this week.

I ain't gonna lie, when the clouds weren't blocking the sun, the heat in the east stands (Miami side) was brutal. The aluminum seats and everyone jammed in together are rough.

Having said that, but the beginning of the second half, most of the field was shaded, and multiple times in the first three quarters, the sun was behind clouds, which was nice.

But when it was hot? Good lord, it was hot. I'm certain that the players handled it better than a lot of fans did. I saw a lot of Florida students (the put the students on the east side) having issues with the heat.

BY THE WAY, I saw the new Gator basketball center, the guy who is 7'10" Good lord...

Also, I was sitting next to a bunch of Gator football PARENTS. I talked a LOT of **** during the game, to nobody in particular.

Leadership calmed the team. The swamp had no effect. They poured it on for 4 quarters. Those who picked Florida did so mostly because of the swamp. Canes looked like it was their home field.

Lol that's why I noted that they allow you to target your donation! But yeah, my relationship with UF is a bit complicated to Canes fans. For many personal reasons, my time in Gainesville was an important time in my life. (went to grad school* there, husband and I got engaged and married while we lived there, etc.) And I'm a huge sports fan so I wanted to enjoy my time and everything they have to offer. I think it would be weird to be a student there and not go to football games and baseball games and volleyball games because i grew up a Cane. For me, it's like I have a second team - I'm able to compartmentalize.

I was born and raised a Cane (I'm a Broward baby), and went to undergrad at UM. I didn't even apply to any other colleges. And I would NEVER root for Florida over UM in any sport. Not even a question. And I donate to Miami as well and have for decades.

(The funny thing is that I came VERY close to going to law school at FSU. Ended up going out of state though. Almost had the Big 3 trifecta.)

*My grad school graduating class was only about 30 people - it's a small program. We had as many Canes, Noles, Bulldogs, and Knights as we did Gators. It was a fun time!
I feel your pain, I went to Miami my wife and son went to Florida(she's a Cane now and he was always a Cane), and I just dropped my daughter off at Arkansas!?

Congrats on your daughter! That's awesome! I love their alumni sidewalk and always wanted to go there for a game sometime so I could see it. And UF is a great school, and sounds like you've got a smart family. ;)

We live in Georgia and my son is only 7 so he's obviously liked UGA since they've been good, but he goes to lots of tech camps at GT so he likes them too. And my brother-in-law went to Clemson and gives him gear, so he wears jerseys for FIVE teams! :6fps6: He's breaking my heart and insisting on wearing a Haynes King GT shirt when we go to the game in Atlanta in November. I can't say no to him though haha.

Wow, that's quite the lineup. I couldn't be happier with Pig Sooie. The town is pretty amazing and the people match it. The kindness that's been extended to us when people found out she came "all the way from Florida" was really amazing.

I love to hear that. Southern hospitality is a special thing. I hope she has a great first semester!

The atmosphere wasn’t ****. Gator fans were nervous before the game. Only time I noticed the crowd during the game was on the long run by Johnson.

Even from the first quarter it seemed like our players were not phased at all.

From those that were at the game? Thoughts?

Cam playes like a cool cucumber man. For a lot of the game he has so much time you could have wrote a book.

But our defense wasn't phased by the sound at all either.
I had several friends who are season ticket holders with me tell me the Notre Dame game at Hard Rock was wayyyyy louder. LOL

Well I've always been told that the stadium in Seattle Washington was always the loudest regardless of it being a college or pro game. But, today for some reason the swamp is the loudest gameday crowd as reported by espn. What a bunch of malarkey.

ESPIN gon ESPIN

Came was out there dishing out free advice to those bums. Masterfully Hilarious 🤣

I will say. In helmet comms are a massive blessing for our program.

My first game in the Swamp. Not trying to be critical at all, but objectively speaking, I was underwhelmed. I didn’t find it loud at all. I don’t think Gators were optimistic about this game or season so maybe I picked a bad game to assess the Swamp.

I've noticed for a while that with these state of FL games among the big 3, home field doesn't seem to matter as much as it once did. Almost seems that the visiting team gets more amped and brings an edge now.

How was the third quarter silence and departure of a lot of the gata bums?

I knew you were talking squat to those bums...I hope you talked enough crap for me! Lol.

Same. First game in the Swamp here. Not even being a Gator hater, the experience there was very underwhelming. The tailgating was mostly lame - the only good one was run by Canes United. The stadium is nothing special, and it wasn’t neerly as loud as I expected. Even early on in the game, I could still hear myself talking. The loudest games at HRS and the OB were infinitely louder. I’ve been to other road games (Ohio State, Nebraska, FSU) that were much louder, too.

It did seem strange how he would stop running but stayed in bounds on a few runs. After the pick he responded great though
I think he was being ****y and intentionally baiting the D to come hit him by the sidelines. Almost daring them to commit the penalty.

I kept yelling "Get up and go HOME, Gators!"
I was sitting on gator side and did same thing :ibis-roflmao-sm3:

Some quotes like "THIS IS OUR HOUSE NOW"

"Yall say we rent a stadium, well WE OWN THIS ONE NOW"

This can be HARD ROCK NORTH for us..

After George amazing TD, ok time for yall to GTFO!!!
