It is the only place that legit hurt my ears in 95 and 97. Of course when you are good and it matters you tend to be a lot louder. The suck now so no one gonna scream for that ****.

Cam playes like a cool cucumber man. For a lot of the game he has so much time you could have wrote a book.

But our defense wasn't phased by the sound at all either.

Nah that’s just PTSD. Pick itself totally felt different, in that it didn’t impact his body language at all. There was no instant spiral like TVD. Just walked it off like another play. Honestly believe he was just feeling himself a little too much there because he felt the disparity and how badly we were gonna beat them.

Our team gave zero F’s about the swamp or their fans noise. No one cared and it wasn’t all that loud. For all the **** the national media talked they should be eating crow

I felt similarly and had to shake off some PTSD. Currently at IV kool aid levels.

I've been to tons of games at UF back when they were good (I'm an alumna of UM and UF). My ears NEVER hurt from the Swamp, and my ears would hurt and I used to get tinnitus every week from the OB. Have gotten it from HRS as well.

Cam touched on something that I've always said about the Swamp as well. I've even told the UF athletic dept this (Y'all will hate this, but I'm a donor bc I'm a diehard gymnastics fan. Miami obviously doesn't have gymnastics. They do allow you to target your donation.), but the stadium does a horrible job of keeping the energy up between plays. There's no DJ playing music, keeping the crowd into it, etc., so the fans just sit back down and play on their phones. The energy just dies after something good happens. The band plays the songs and they do the chants, but its like the fans are going through the motions because how many times can you do the same thing over and over?

And Cam said that by the time the crowd started cheering, the offense had already communicated the play, so any cheering / noise was ineffective anyway. Plus, it can't even get that loud because the energy dies when you don't keep it up. It's a shame when you have such a large crowd. And when it's so hot, it's not helping. They really need to make it more fun so the students don't leave in the third quarter. What happened yesterday was NOT an anomaly. They've been doing that since the Muschamp era.

Now let's see what he has to say after we pack the rock for one of these night games. Keep an egg in the L column for Fsu and have them be something like 4and 3 and not much to be optimistic about and it'll be mostly Canes fans in the stadium that night and it will be shades of 2017.

When I had season Tix back in the OB my ears never hurt because I was so loud I think. I felt the stadium though. More like a train. The OB did an amazing job of keeping the fans alive between plays and time outs particularly with the DJ and sunsations. They need to do something with environment at hard rock. I really don't like it. Between plays and especially during time outs it is unbearably boring.

Lol that's why I noted that they allow you to target your donation! But yeah, my relationship with UF is a bit complicated to Canes fans. For many personal reasons, my time in Gainesville was an important time in my life. (went to grad school* there, husband and I got engaged and married while we lived there, etc.) And I'm a huge sports fan so I wanted to enjoy my time and everything they have to offer. I think it would be weird to be a student there and not go to football games and baseball games and volleyball games because i grew up a Cane. For me, it's like I have a second team - I'm able to compartmentalize.

I was born and raised a Cane (I'm a Broward baby), and went to undergrad at UM. I didn't even apply to any other colleges. And I would NEVER root for Florida over UM in any sport. Not even a question. And I donate to Miami as well and have for decades.

(The funny thing is that I came VERY close to going to law school at FSU. Ended up going out of state though. Almost had the Big 3 trifecta.)

*My grad school graduating class was only about 30 people - it's a small program. We had as many Canes, Noles, Bulldogs, and Knights as we did Gators. It was a fun time!

I haven't been down since before Covid, that really sucks if it isn't the same anymore. They used to always play music in between, even at HRS. What happened to the DJ?

Haha I used to always lose my voice too. After the 2013 Gators game I lost my voice for that whole week and had a huge presentation. It was horrible.

It was exactly as I told people it would be, having gone to games in The Swamp-*** before.

Can it get loud? Absolutely. But when you punch Florida (and their fans) in the mouths, they tend to get quiet. Yes, the had a temporary spark when Montrell Johnson had his one shining moment, but it really wasn't a problem.

Here are the things you could notice.

First (and correct me if I missed a play), we did not have any false starts or delay of game. Yes, we took our full timeouts in the first half WHICH WAS SMART. We were in the lead, but it was a close game, and now that you have the 2 minute timeout, you don't have to feel as bad about burning a couple if you don't have the right personnel or playcall.

Second, outside of a few times when Cam came to the line and communicated with the OL, I don't recall any frantic "staring at the sidelines" or "motioning for a another player to come in". Yes, we had a couple of "10-man huddles", but everyone was cool about it and we didn't lose focus or concentration.

Finally, a lot of people observed how calm Cam was. From the deliberate way he moved, to his calmness in the pocket and his decisiveness when he left the pocket, the guy was just poised. Yes, the pick was a bad gamble that was unnecessary at that point, and I think he learned from it and was much more precise in picking out his targets after that.

The other thing I liked was the WAY we did the RPO. Instead of putting the ball in the RBs gut, and then trying to pull it out again and risk a fumble, Cam just held the ball out there while Martinez held his ground.

So so much to like in this game.
