Talk lately has me a little nervous about 2020 football season. Thoughts?

Do you think we will play football in 2020?

I will say this, whatever state opens back up first had better hope it works. If they have an outbreak or drastic increase we will all be locked up until Christmas. Then we will see civilian-police unrest and sh_t will get real ugly.

I am praying that does not happen

In reference to the 2020 season, if they really want to have it? They're going to have to be proactive. Taking temperaures , antibody testing, etc. More than feasible if they want it to happen. That is without fans of course. That would have to be a more extensive plan. Yet still attainable with diligent planning and intellectual foresight...

Nope, and my friends who have lost their jobs are pulling unemployment + $600 a week, I think they might make it.

That’s super great for your buddies. What about the millions of people in this country who are paid off the books who don’t qualify for anything?

The ones who’s legal status here is shaky at best and are living day to day?

I don’t consider it a separate issue. I think had the predicted shortage come anywhere close to materializing, the production would’ve been exponentially higher.

Here’s an article indicating in a combined effort between government and the private sector we’re going to produce 200,000 more ventilators to stockpile by the end of the year.

You don't consider it a separate issue, but it is. It was my question, and the issue you brought up had nothing to do with my specific question. I asked if anyone had specific information as to the actual amount of ventilators manufactured so far in response to the C19 crisis. I made no inferences at all with my question.

If we can simultaneously produce these ventilators for "stockpiling" while immediately catching up on all the other things we actually need right now like, most importantly, more testing equipment, then let's go. Seems like overkill at this point to be stockpiling 200K ventilators when there are some things that are more pressing right now, but if we can do it all at the same time then that's great.

Most of the income where I live is oilfield type work, oil was $10 a barrel this AM, the lowest I have seen it in 30+ years, so it's rough here .....but the people I know still value LIVING over NO JOB.

If they are here illegally I really don't have any remorse for them tbh, but that's just me

The early openers are doing so based on hope and opinion and political pressure. The same hope and opinion that Trump uses all the time to solve problems. They might wind up being right, and then they'll pound their chests and accuse civilized people of being fear mongerers.

Testing is nowhere near where it needs to be for ramped up widespread openings, and most governors (republican and democratic) agree. It might work out, but if it doesn't, this thing is going to spike again.

Funny thing is watching all these rednecks protesting to re-open immediately waving Trump flags, but it's Trump's policy they're protesting. He's the one who gave the specific phased re-opening guidelines, which no states have met yet. Fcking moron rednecks don't even know what they're protesting.

Is anybody making Canes masks? Looks like we might be wearing them in the stands. I say the season starts sometime in October and we play a full season with no bye weeks. Lots of rescheduling to do. Here will be no vaccine anytime soon but we will have treatments that will reduce mortality rates. Remember there is still no hiv vaccine 40 years later.

Sounds like something to invest in. If they sell fabric with a Canes logo, I know of a artsy chick that makes masks. Thanks for the idea...

You see people in stadiums in October?

Why not? Limit the capacity for social distancing. Take everyone's temperature at the door, etc. If they study it and offer a substantial plan. Might seem like a viable option ....
But I do see empty stadiums as the jump off point.

Not likely, some states have already said they are done for 2020 with such events. A ton of variables, most of which weigh against there being fans at games in October, if they even have games.

Picture this, they play a game with no fans, Team A vs Team B, then 10 days later a player from Team A shows symptoms and tests positive. Now since then Team A and Team B have played Team C and Team D the Saturday after.

CHAOS ensues
